Soboro Sukehiro

How much TP does a mob usually get per swing from a weapon? Anyone know?

I would guess somewhere around the same amount you'd get from them hitting you.

So about 2 TP per hit?

Yeah, the stronger GK's are all about epeen of bigger WS numbers, but soboro easily trumps them in terms of total damage.

Mobs get the amount of TP gained by the player (before effects such as Store TP), plus an additional 2 TP. So yes, Soboro does feed a pretty significant amount of TP.

I've never considered it much of an issue. Most exp mobs don't have horrendous TP moves, so it's not as bad as some might make out. If you're fighting Erucas on Firesday, though, you'll want to have another weapon handy.

One of my favorite uses is for SAM/DRG. Jump and High Jump each act as a bonus melee round, but give the mob no TP. A triple-attack on a Jump gives a very nice TP boost. With Jump and Meditate, it becomes very simple to self-skillchain.

Didn't they gimp the multi-hit weapon jumps?

Not that I know of. As far as I know Kclub Drks can still sub Drg and use jump for a horrendous amount of spike damage given that the multi hit on it procs for more than two hits. I really don't see why they would though considering DA still procs on jumps.

I had mine right when I dinged 50 and used it until I got Hagun. It's fun as heck doing light of a meditate.

barely leading the parse by what 3-4%?

3-4% is NOT barely leading a parse lol, that's a huge gap.

On topic...use soboro till hagun. Soboro can even keep up in merit parties, but isn't better than hagun. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't use a parser, and they go by what they see.

Oh, i thought i heard fran say they did and that's why he doesn't see people /drg anymore, atleast i didn't see any when they downed AV also.

On lunch so didn't stop to read all the post...

But! I just wanted to say that I carry my soboro and Hagun everywhere. I actually ran into a situation in Limbus where we had some issues with times on the run with Elementals for the final floor. We actually were looking at a loss until I thought about how the Soboro's damage on elementals wouldn't be much less than the Haguns and we'd get a TON more hits in. So I got me and another SAM to switch bringing the elementals down in record time, likely saving the run.

I used Soboro till hagun, and then occasionally after when I subbed ranger. I don't see why anyone would get rid of it at 61 unless they only care about big numbers. Somewhat off topic soboro/ranger is really fun, but mobs will knock you the hell down because of the hate you generate.

Now heres another question: As of late (61+) my Tachi: Yukikaze's have been suffering when it comes to the damage output. I usually /thf due to the emnity merits I carry for my PLD, so most of the time I TA the tank so as to not steal hate and become an MP sponge. Is me going /thf hurting my damage output? I tend to do decent damage when I SA Yuki the mob tho. Anything I may be doing wrong?

Yes. Your weapon skills will be stronger, but your total damage will be lower. It might be necessary to help your tank pull hate, but yes, it will lower your overall damage.
