Now, the first time i read up on this shiny lil expansion pack was that SE was gunna focus mainly on solo-ing. Now me being a THF and all, i was kind of anxious, seeing as im getting near that magical lvl 75, and i've never had much experience soloing for actual exp. Mainly, the reason is the extent to which i had to search for EP mobs at my level. Outpost warping... Tele(tab)... whatever. too much trouble for me. i'd just go rape my usual monkies for NMs...ect.ect.
However, the first night of release of Aht Urghan and myself arriving in that port town, jamming to that new music. My mind was, of course, getting those new jobs. But i didnt see that as being the most important thing. Im definatly an explorer. I just like running around. Sneak oils? hell no. Tonko? too lazy to cast. So, the first time i zoned into this new area i was lookin to get outside. see the landscape, test out that new music i was anticipating so much. And then, i found one of those secret exits out of Bh(tab) i cant even remember whats its called now. funky name. The zone was kind of unexpected. but...
Holy crap was my first thought. beautiful landscape. The music rivals that of Zi'Tah in my opinion. Hell, this whole expansion has great music so far. Anyways. the first monster i see, was see-able only by the help of Mr. Tab key. those Aht Urghan Attercops freakin blend in. Turn off names and stand at a distance. But i check the mob and.... Easy Prey. to a lvl 73 Thief. I was shocked, honestly. i was expecting some maybe semi-strong mobs out there. but EP at my level? and a spider? (kekeke spider webs ^_____^)
At that point, i was called into trying to get those new jobs. Corsair was first on the list. And at this point, i was about ~4k till 74. four freekin thousand exp from that shining light at the end of the Thief tunnel called Utsusemi Ni. And guess what? Those devil-spawning, cock-sucking FLEAS spawned and killed me. about 4 times. One of them being a time where i went afk to go to the bathroom and come back to my character while Fleas were having an orgy on my corpse.
Anyways, back to the point of this thread, aside from me saying this might be the greatest expansion we may ever see. The solo content. After dying all those times, it left me at 9k tnl. Remembering those lil spiders... i thought "Hey...9k isnt too bad... i got my exp ring... Why The Hell Not?"
So my quest began. my targets? Those spider attercop thingies of course. And those squeaky Toucan Sam lookin birds. 40~ exp a pop, 70~ with the exp ring on. It was amazing. i could solo these buggers with hardly any trouble, and get a decent amount of exp! And on top of that, I had just finished the mission, so i had Sanction on.
All in all, after 5k solo'd exp after many hours, and trio and foursome Exp with Tymon, Gladdy and Aerd(tab) ((i think i rely on my tab key too much)) I attained level 74, with a feeling of great accomplishment
I was also the first to sell a stack of those birds feathers on the ah! go me!
in conclusion. i love this expansion. NOW LEMME GO ASSAULT AND BESIEGE DAMMIT!!
