Solo ENM?

I just won the thief solo ENM, but it took 5 hi pots, two perfect dodges, and 2 lucky rolls. Took 12k to beat the goblin at dice. Overall exciting, but I wouldn't do it again unless:

A. Do you think I can sleep the puppet with a bolt? The one arrow I fired was an acid bolt, and it both landed and defense downed the puppet. But I would imagine that blind bolts wouldn't work. Sleep bolts either. Bloody bolts either. He's a puppet after all.

B. If I can't do these to the puppet could I do them to the goblin himself and hope to win? Is the goblin defeatable?

As a thief, I just plain got lucky on the rolls and managed to win with 31 hp left. I doubt I could do that again without spending 40k+

Please remember that this is Final Fantasy... nothing makes sense. Sleep, Blind, Acid, Venom, and yes Bloody bolts all work on Magic Pots and Golems, which are completely mechanical. I don't see why any of them wouldn't work on the puppet.

Congrats on the win though - did you get the earring?

I had planned on testing it if I had no chance of winning, but as soon as I got my perfect dodge back from a dice roll I figured I'd better go ahead and make the most of the run and not fool around.

I've read that you can't stick status effects on the puppet. But I clearly stuck at least one, and if sleep and bloody bolts can land I'm set.
 
well i can steal his HP with my 2h ,so i guess Bloody bolts well do the same on the puppet

anyway the drop for thf is

The goblin did diceroll, and I got all my abilities back half-way through the fight.
 
I did the Solo ENM with my BLM, overall for BLM its really easy. And also that lantern seriously owns. I shot off 8 nukes at Kirin unresisted.
 
I'm something like 4/6 on the solo ENM. I usually bring 2 hi-pots and an au lait, open with SA+Hide and hope for some good rolls. The worst part is spending upwards of 50k just to get in. >< Never tried sleep bolts though.
