Won't play this game
I was sleeping and had a vision.

It is a way to make a gilseller have a very bad day and possibly quit the game.

Here's the plan...

have a ton of people send 1 predetermined gilseller 8 1 gil gifts to his delivery box.

Say we get 200 people to do this in one day to a gilseller at random.

it would be a total of 1600 gil that the seller would be recieving so please dont make the argument that we are just giving them more money because that amount is less than the value of a chocobo sometimes.

Now assuming that the seller can take all 8 items out of his delivery box and bring up the next sheet in lets say 30 seconds ( i did not check this if someone wants to test it go ahead and post the actual time). But for argument purposes call it 30 seconds.

At 30 seconds a sheet and 200 sheets that is 100 minutes or 1hr and 40min that the gilseller has to play the game but can only make a grand total of 1600 gil.

Heres the best part... They have to clear it otherwise they will never recieve payment for the items that they sold on the AH.

Well... since no one else has ever come up with a plan other than lets complain. I figured i'd throw my dream out on the table and see where it goes.

On a side note i have no current plans of emplementing this strategy which is why it is posted in the general discussion section and not the event scheduling. I'm just looking for feedback.

Happy posting

instead of gil why not just some useless junk. I mean why give them gil? Make them work for it. Imagine if everyone sent like distilled water or some other cheap crap but at only 1 item in a box. then they would have all of this crap cluttering up their invo spaces. and they would have to cycle through all of it anyway and then if they wanted gil they would have to sell it. Then you get people to direct people away from buying that item from the AC and tell them where they can get it from and NPC. I say distilled water cause it's like what 10 gil a bottle from NPCs. That would be fun and I'd spend 80 gil to bug the hell out of someone like that.

wont be able to do anything about the gil sellers as long as people buy gil.

Supply & Demand

One problem: What about if you need to send something? You're going to have to wait until the gilseller takes your shit out to send more. It's a very funny and interesting proposition.

On a side note, 1 gil is better than items, it's cheap and won't give them a single gil more than was sent. In other words, the gilseller will not profit.

lol, I was thinking of suggesting sending 1 gil too.

The people gil sellers use to MPK you and your buddies with and farm don't send the cash out. Just an FYI so you don't waste your time on something so useless. When you stop buying it they'll stop selling it that's the bottom line and the only solution.

Brilliant! I love this idea ^^

I'll get the army ready to invade china... oh you meant their characters ^^;

BST invasion!!

Who says all gilsellers use their delivery box? Maybe only their leader or some random guy in the linkshell sells everything... and I cant tie up my delivery box for more then a few hours of game time let alone an undetermined legnth of time...

not worth it.

You have mules, don't you?

In all honesty though, I wouldn't mind spending $5 a month extra for 5 extra characters to send useless junk to gil sellers. That's 40 items XD

You can easily see what gilsellers sell items via the AH price history on the drops they like to monopolize.

Uzor send me some money if your extra money is hurting you >_>

from talking to Leol one time, they give the items to the leader and he "splits the gil" that was recieved.
i would imagine just by using common sense, just as others probably can imagine, that gil sellers use mules to deliver gil. if they didnt, there would be a way to track the gil sellers. hell, i wouldnt doubt that the gil sellers dont erase their mules every so often and create a new one.
another theory of gil sellers is that there are seperate departments. one dept that makes the gil, they send to another dept character and they distribute the gil.???

It would still be easy to track gil sellers by mules MO. Just because you erase a mule, doesn't mean it disappears from Square's records. Thats why you can have a character recreated to the way it was, and since GMs and Square employees use account ID's rather than character names, it'd be extremely easy to find these people.

However, the actual method is a victim to Square's lack of caring.

As well, if you somehow find out the name of delivery mules legitly, you become the target of interest for soliciting to buy gil, even if you weren't. Square's really fucked up in regards to their RMT problem.

Regardless if they use mules, sell themselves or the leader sell and split, all these methods still requires you to use your delivery box.

Really, the only way to find out if this would work, before weighting pros and cons, is to give it a shot.

So who do we target first? I vote for Sequoia cause he's me favorite GS to mess with, god he's dumb. Have'nt seen him in a while tho, is he still around?

you missed my point....its higly doubtful that the actual gil sellers that we interact with on a daily basis are the ones with the actual mules that distribute the gil. more than likely, the gil sellers distribute the gil they made to a totally seperate acct that has nothing to do with them. however, we will never know unless they tell us

I was always under the opinion that the gil selling groups sell the gil to the IGE or w/e mules and those are the guys that send the gil to gil buyers.

Just like chatlogs, I'm sure there are delivery box/trade logs stored server side that Square could peek in to.

It's not a question of if the method exists but rather Square's willpower to actually follow through.
