I'm basically gonna suggest whats already been done on killingifrit, but for those of you that haven't been there, heres the jist.

I'd like to see some sort of mini-profile type thing underneath the avatar which would be something like:

Character Name:
Job+Level:
Linkshell:

But possibly make it so that instead of job and level, you can select say, to display Craft+Level:.

Just an idea, I think it's really nice feature, and maybe you could have like, a table of highscores, or something along those lines, which would be esepecially useful to look up someone with say, crafting above level 60 and what not.

But yeah, I'm probably gonna get some reason thrown back at my why it can't be done, or that it's already been suggested (I didn't read any other posts I just kinda, posted a new topic :S )

Sure it can be done. The highscore list is a bit more tricky, I don't expect that to be added anytime soon, but the custom profile fields are doable.

Edit: Not entirely sure how the job field would work tho, as some people have like 6 jobs at level 75 or whatnot.

Well, just have it as a main job, so it's the one that the character is currently leveling. Perhaps there could be a separate jobs section in that person's profile with every job they have leveling, but for space purposes just have one underneath the avatar?

I don't really know, just throwin some ideas at the playin' field. :D
 
Maybe for jobs that are level 75 a person could get a "badge" or small icon with something that represents that job. ie. a spear for drg, wand for whm, dual katanas for nin. have those in columns below the job/level craft/level that the player may specify.

Woah thats an even better idea! Just throwing some ideas around with the idea of job specific icons and such, it would be kinda cool to maybe have the default settings on titles to be job specific too. Like, Bushido Blade, for a level 30~ Ninja and stuff. Sure it would take a long time to think of a title for every job every 10 levels, but it would be kinda cool :D
 
Hmm...every 10 levels seems like a little overkill and I don't think everybody would want to automaticly think "oh I need to update my qcdn profile now!" Probably at 50 and 75, you know kinda like a basic/specialist thing the army would use or something. Everyone gets really giddy when they think of level 50 or 75

Well, I've seen "shop" type plugins, which were around especially on runescape forums (why does it always come back to this damn game?!). Basically, as you post you accumulate points/money which can be used to virtually pimp your character out, and show others what sort of kickass items you own. I'm not sure how you'd incorporate it into FFXI's vast amount of kickass items, but it would be interesting to maybe see?

I dunnow, I'm kinda posting just generally EVERYTHING I've seen or thought of, maybe I should store up some more ideas and suggest some better ones :P
 
Yeah the shop thing has been on my mind too. For vBulletin there is a plugin called uCash and uShop, unfortunately it has not been ported to 3.5.x yet, so we are all (all those who have the latest vBulletin) are waiting for the conversion.

Basically people get points for posting, and then they can buy stuff the shop. Hopefully they will release it soon.
 
That sounds like a cool way to incorperate the badge idea, plus if you want to get some donation $ you could offer incentives like a $ badge that goes bronze,silver,gold to show that person supports qcdn. Then the post count things could be used to buy the bagdes for job level, since typicaly the longer youve played the longer youve used this site, it would be easy to accumulate the necessary(?) amount.

Thats a good idea.

You shoulda made it to where you sell titles. Lol. Damn the veterans abilities to change their own. Could do it for newbs. Or like said you could pass out stars based on the amount of money you donate. ^^ So people could wear their badge with pride, all "yeah, fuck yo couch, I support QCDN."

We all know players are always looking to have the best gear, well unless you donate your gonna be left behind on qcdn!
 
Another suggestion, brought up in my private LS forum. Can we incorporate monthly calendars, a la CK's page here? I keep double-booking my evenings online. A daily calendar where we could post events like coffer runs etc. would be hella sweet.
 
There is a Calendar that is being used by some. If you are asking whether LS' can get a private calendar for just thier LS, then I will have to look into that. No idea if that is possible.
 
That's exactly what I'm thinking of, except as you said, for private forums. I don't think too many people would be happy if I plugged that thing up with our weekly coffer / skillup / orgy events.
 
couyld u not link your little note LS thing on top left of your name and lets u into a ls calnder as does not a admin of that LS allow u into it unless u hcoice baskot windy sandy pic on top
