More Harddrive space than you could ever dream?:
Either get a USB harddrive or a regular harddrive and a usb enclosure, at this point USB harddrives alone are cheap enough, I got a 250 gig for 80 dollars.
Use this tutorial:

Now you have a bigger hard-drive than you could ever possibly need.
How to setup linux:

That's for standard TV, by the way. If you're using a high def, you can change where it says default=ydl480i to whatever your max resolution is.
Convert Video to MP4:

Useful to fill up that hard drive. If you have a PSP, it should read the format too. As well the PS3 60 gig will read the memory stick of the PSP, so you can fill up the hard drive with your entire collection of movies in MP4 format then take what you want with you on memory stick to watch on PSP.

PS: You can also stick any harddrive you want physically into the PS3, but if you're using it for media purposes, and with the 60 gig premium it'll be all you need it for, it's 1000 times better to use a USB hard drive cause you can easily just unplug the drive from your ps3 and plug to your PC.
