So, just testing out some damage stuff earlier, and kept coming across this:
Critcap.jpg

This has me curious.

Huh? I think ...something's missing here.

*edit* nevermind.. picture just didn't load.

*adding* Ah.. yeah I came across the same kind of thing in Xarc, I was doing a constant 301 dmg to the skeletons, even my crits were 301 which was kind of saddening.

yeah, it is kinda saddening to see crits do the same as normal hits, but its only for TW/EP mobs.

Why are you hitting baby mobs? lol

Was definately a damage cap, atleast on lower level monsters, so it seems. I don't think it was that way previously. And if it was, I must have never noticed. >.>;

I was out there testing the rumor that 2h weaponskills are no longer affected by Sneak Attack. I was building TP to test it. And yeah, Ecks, if this has been that way forever, I sure as hell never noticed. Pretty sure the 2h update has really upped the ante quite a lot.

Oh yeah, see the new tests for accuracy while equipping a 2h weapon now too. All fingers are pointing toward not only 1STR = 1ATT, but 1DEX = 1ACC now too.

Fucking elite.

lol Mistra we keep posting at the same time :D and that 1 str = 1 att seems pretty strong, i wanted a 2h overhaul, but this went a little too much from what I have seen so far

I noticed this too earlier, I was hitting for 122 with a maneater and with over 100 TP for 110. It's nothing big but why make it take longer to kill TW mobs...

I don't think it's too much at all really. To me, it was strongly needed. I've loved using Great Axe for a long time, but could never justify it. Tonight's merit party turned me on. Hard. Biggest woody I ever had. 2 inches.

Ikari and Orestes were popping off 1500-2200 Gekko's and Kasha's on mobs, the upper end numbers being double attacks.

I was pulling off 700-1500 RR's (As seen in an earlier screenshot) with FORTITUDE Axe. Byakko's raped some shit pretty hard too. I had a 2490 Steely earlier, and another 1500 Raging Rush. Had to sub NIN though for stability in the party. It was a test party for some LS members, and everyone was subbing WAR.

Edit: in fact, here they are again.

This is pretty strong

So is this

EDIT: Well from what I have seen it is little overpowered, but i haven't tried using great axe yet so i shouldn't be talking :P

lol Damn, that penta was pretty.

There has always been a damage cap based on your str (or attack, I forget which).

One day, with a strange set up I experienced a most irregular kirin fight where all my hits kept doing the same damage lol.

That was one of the most fun merit parties I've had Mistra. This update is way over the top so far. I'm honestly scared to death they'll nerf us.

1 DEX = 1 Acc is insane. Byakko's Haidate just got boosted. Osode isn't so laughable to TP in, and we can wear a Thunder Ring instead of a Sniper if we want. Surely hell has frozen over.

Hauby +1 is also pretty hot with 18 acc / 18 attack... There's clearly no reason for SAM to use Shura Togi anymore.

Yeah. Lol. Suddenly 15 accuracy on the legs, as well as a 1.5% boost to crit rates just got even sexier.

I forgot to mention last night as well, that my SA tests were inconclusive towards any boost from SA at all. Granted the tests were done on Too Weak enemies out in Batallia Downs, but still.

The 100% TP test with Byakko's without Sneak Attack (This was done 5 times, with little variable on damage, mainly because the hit ensured a Double Attack could not happen)

Hit #1 - 1789
Hit #2 - 1688
Hit #3 - 1740
Hit #4 - 1789
Hit #5 - 1702

Now, the tests with Sneak Attack.

Hit #1 - 1700
Hit #2 - 1789 <---- (Yes, wtf)
Hit #3 - 1550 <---- (Again, wtf)
Hit #4 - 1744
Hit #5 - 1699

I then did two shots with 300% TP. It appears I was at a damage cap even then, which is my reasoning for saying it's inconclusive for me at this time.

#1 @ 300% TP - No SA
1789 <- (This number popped up a lot, as you can see)

#2 @ 300% TP - with SA
1789

As you can see, it's inconclusive for me atm. I need harder mobs.
