lol WoW is in no way equal to FFXI. I saw the game, disregarded it due to graphics, then did some reasearch and bought it. And lo and behold, I'm not playing casue it's just not pretty enough. It's also really really really easy. I have a theory that every FFXI player that's past 50 is a masochist.
WoW breakdown, (imo)
Pros:
-Easy to pick up
-You don't need a lot of time
-Custom abilites (you pick which ones you want)
-"Rest Satuts" yeilds 200% exp if you're logged out for a long enough time, this makes it easy to catch up to your freinds.
-You get exp for doing just about everything
-At this point money isn't hard to get
-No loading up differnt zone, unless you travell to the other island
-duels, you ask someone to duel, you can fight, and no exp lost or gain, just for fun.
-Soloing
-No exp loss
Cons:
-Lacks the graphical "flash" that FFXI does, that is to say, it's kinda blocky.
-Almost too easy (I like a small challange)
-Race/Job restirctions
-Too many "Go fetch me this item" quests.
-No Auction House
-You have to walk till 30 (30 is concidered "High-level"
-Having to run back to your body from a graveyard that is way too far away, or dying in an aggro spot and dying again.
There's my breakdown, I have 3 chars, 2 around 6 or 7 and one at 11, it's a simple game that doens't consume tons of time, but also lacks the same "vibe" as FFXI.
