While during exp pt. Someone asks if they can take 10 mins to recharge their Empress band. Leader says yes. So for the sake of 1 x 1000 exp, 5 people lose out on 1500 - 2500 each.

The time it takes to recharge the damn thing makes the person who recharges it lose exp as well. It's a multi lose situation.

Just thought I'd share.
 
Yeah some people are such idiots, don't realize by the time you got back you would of gained more exp.

I join to rep someone. 15 mins later, I hear <I'm sleepy>. Then ldr makes vain search for a tank to replace 'Mr Sleepy'. I ask ldr if we are disbanding. He replies no. While this is going on a friend of mine informs me that there is a place in a pt for me if I want it. I turn it down due to the ldr saying we were not disbanding. 20 mins later we disband and the place in friend's pt is gone.

Guys.. if you leave a party. Make sure that the party will last at least another hour and a half or so before getting a rep.

So when are people going to realize what the japanese have known for years? Replacements after a decent length of time are really dumb.

I kinda agree... When you gotta go, you gotta go. I always give a 15-30 minute heads up though, because its possible that a lot could happen to give someone a 1 - 1 1/2 hour advanced warning would be kinda useless.

And ya, JP almost never seek replacements, they usually just disband after someone has to go, this is normally because they dont try the "Duct tape" route with their party, and try to fix it with the same/better job that left. A PT will half the time end in shambles, and the rep's time would have been wasted.
 
IDK JP wars always replace themselves with loldrgs ect when they have to go after a couple hours >.< without telling me they are leaving err i should say some jp wars
 
JP people not only never seek replacements, they also never seem to want to start parties by themselves.
 
Smart people use their last XP band charge at the NPC and recharge it on the spot. =P

I remember back in the earlier days of FFXI JP's would think that a pt is over if someone was leaving because thats how things worked culturally over there and everyone would leave. Now, most of them understand that a party isin't over but some still stick to old ways.. Or they could just be a pile of a shit never know. lol
 
Depends really on when the original person has to leave in my experience. Sometimes it works out that they do get replacements, others they don't. Same with NA, EU and other AS players.
 
I do my best not to get replacements, because when you get one.. the party turns to shit.

yea and then some other guy wants to leave 15min later ... chain affect replacements...

not flaming or anything but I personally don't think getting a party with replacements is good karma.

I tend to want to stay until party disbands.. and with replacements, it can take a loooooooong time and it makes me too sleepy for my own good or the parties good.

I need to learn to say no ....
 
yeah ive never really had a jp replace themselves, i usually get the <i'm sleepy> 15 minute. Sometimes ive had some really bad pts, but i stick it out anyway because the people are fun or i just dont got much else to do, then 1 or 2 leave and the pt gets awesome. However, when i replace myself i give all the info i can to the replacement, and nearly all the time they say they dont mind they just want exp, so more power to them lol.
 
I think my favorite are people who are drunk and wanting to exp. Just this past Friday lvling my brd in crawler's nest we picked up a thf and decided to head down to Knight Crawlers. (LvL 50-52 party) The guy kept getting lost, stated he had been drinking and forgot oils and powders. I was glad when he died on the way to camp. Booted that head ache and got a replacement.

Oh and he kept typing in like letter and not words. Now I don't mind stuff like lol and omg. Hell I use those all the time but stuff like this....

Example taken from that party:

THF >>Y R U goin there? w8 4 me k?
/tell Raesvelg >> Gahhh!
THF >> LoLz I 4gotz oil. Sneak me k?
Reya >> You didn't bring oils...?
5 seconds later
THF >> Agoo!
2 mob hits later
THF >> TY 4 teh help guyz
Reya >> Y U no bring oilz :P

Damnit, this would be a perfect time to post a witty picture with a mob saying "AGOO!" But i'm in class ; ;
 
lol, I was a replacement in a jungles pt last night on my pld. Normally I say no thanks to rep pts, but it was late and I just wanted to ding 29 at least. I get there and the 31 blu (who is killing xp just by being there) is afk. np whatever, we do 2 really longass fights and I /poke the blu a few times. After that I ask the pt leader to boot him, but he doesn't. After another fight I notice the pt leader and the afk blu are in the same linkshell. So then I tell him to boot the blu or I leave. Well, the blu was booted fast then. Another fight or two later, a pt member "dcs" and we're down to four. pt leader's @350 or something so we do a few fights and he dings then disbands the pt. I didn't even get halfway through my xp band, ended up soloing the rest in Dangruf Wadi, lol. Gotta love the jungles!
