Spider-Man 4 rumors (minor ones)

I was breezing through the Carnage section of Wiki and I ran into this short, but enticing little snippet:

An aborted Venom film, written by David Goyer for New Line Pictures, would have featured Carnage as the primary antagonist, but the script was never produced and the rights for the Venom character reverted to Sony.[3]

On May 5, 2007 it was confirmed on freezedriedmovies.com that Carnage would be a villian in the upcoming film Spider-Man 4, along with The Lizard (comics). [4]

I usually don't take Wikipedia very seriously because of its open user database, but I just found it kind of interesting.

They didn't use Peter's professor as the Lizard yet, did they?

No lizard-man, shocker, rhino, hobgoblin, scorpion, mysterio, electro, carnage, vulture, kraven or chameleon so far. They have a huge amount of enemies they could use for future movies; there's more villains that I've forgotten too.

Well of course. But the lizards human form has appeared in 2 of the spiderman movies already. Plus I heard mention of the symbiote falling into something at the end of SM:3?

He was in all 3 I believe, they just didn't give him a name in the first one.

Considering that the director has already confirmed that they don't even have a script yet, wikipedia is wrong, again.

Remember though, Parker and Brock weren't the only hosts to the Venom symbiote.

They would have to bring back venom for the 4th movie, there's no way they'd kill off such an important(and complete fan favorite) character with him only having 20 minutes of screen time and absolutely no depth at all.

Not to mention, based on the comic, that Carnage needs Venom to even manifest in the first place.

Unless they pull some shit, saying that it happened during the 3rd movie.

Carnage posseses the Silver-Surfer, creating Carnage Cosmic, then Spidey has to team up with the Fantastic Four......

They could just take the Ultimate Spider-man arc and created Carnage out of that small sample Peter gave to Dr. Conners.
After watching the SM3, I'd be happy with any supervillian combo as long as there's not another stupid "Saturday Night Fever" montage again

Conners had that small portion of the symbiote to analyze. Wet newspaper anyone? Most likley they'll feature the Lizard without a tail, since Venom had no tounge. Maybe they could get Eric Roberts to play Spider Man, and Corben Bernsen to play the Lizard. The best thing this farnchise can do for itself now is to simply die off with whatever miniscule shred of dignity they managed to retian after 3.

I don't remember anyone else being Venom, but I remember that the only other person who had a symbiote too was the prisoner who became Carnage. Other than that.. in the main storyline (no crazy alternate dimensions and whatnot) of Spider-Man, I can't remember anyone other than them XD

Anne Brock, Eddie's ex-wife, was a host to the venom symbiote twice before commiting suicide.

AND

Mac Gargan, another villian whom the symbiote approached, but was too weak to defeat spider-man.
