Last night was my first time partying in Kuftal Tunnel. It was a great time and I made it to Lv. 54 pretty quickly. The crabs were dropping coffer keys like crazy, and our puller found a treasure coffer at one point. He took me to it so I could get the map.

I went back to Kuftal after the party disbanded so I could mark down the coffer spawn points on the map (hey, you never know). I sent in, cast Sneak, and started running for the Terrigan zone where we'd been camped.

Along the way, I passed body after body. It was spooky. I'm not talking about the carnage of a party wipeout, but fullscale death all over the zone.

Anyone else have a moment like that? Where you walk into a place for the first time and think Oh, shit. I am way out of my league or something?
 
Since your leveling there now I will introduce you to your new best friend that tends to run around aimlesly killing anything he sees. Halifirien meet Guivre . :wink:
 
Yes, Guivre was running wild last night. Picked off poor Jender, then our Rdm. Then some people that attempted a rescue mission. For the record, she is both sight AND sound. Several times, she walked right over me when I was silent/invised. Then at one point, after she snagged some 70+ players, she came back just as my sneak was wearing. I figured I was ok, because I was still invised. NOPE!

Alanon, I'm pretty sure you were one of the corpses I saw when I was running through there. I probably should've stopped to try raises, but I hadn't made it very far before I was in full "Fuck this shit!" panic mode and punked out. Sneak was starting to wear as I was standing in the center of a bunch of crabs and two Haunts, so I warped.

I'm glad you warned me about Guivre.

That RDM was my roommate Scrumpy XD. He kept coming in telling me about some big ass dragon that was running thru the tunnel picking people off so I came in and looked on the puter for him and of course it was Guivre. Has anyone ever killed it? I saw that it drops a skull for the synthing of a Wyvern Helm.
 
Oh, my good friend Guivre. One time I was passing through Kuftal and all of a sudden I noticed my friends health start to drop. I panic, running through the tunnel like a mad woman, only to come face to face with Guivre (literally, I was in First person mode. Actually, it was more like face-to-chest... )

Only to get two shotted myself. ; -;

I think it's funny, actually. Makes for a more exciting adventure!

*raises hand* I've been a Guivre corpse before. I was going to find my Kuftal coffer so I could get the map there (moreso just to get the key out of my mog house). I was right by the entrance so I didn't bother with casting invis yet. I went down the ramp and rounded the very first corner and BAM, there's that damn dragon. I panic and start to run but in a few seconds I get smacked for a quick demise, almost deleveling my poor neglected whm.

Actually, Guivre is TRUE sight only and has ALMOST the same line of sight distance as beloved Faust. Been by him many of times and never once have I had to use sneak just don't let it eyeball you :wink:

Yup, he's like Bune+1. Really fun to kill and a horribly shitty drop to be such a pain instead of shitty drop rate. Unlike Bune though this guy rarely misses making for a challenging fight... even Kirin missed me more than Guivre to be honest but that's just my personal observation it may not be that way for others.
 
Just for the record, if you do get attacked by Guivre, I think Peacenvoy and his people wanted to take him on, so maybe they will help save you... They are always around for some good Guivre lovin' :twisted:

I remember my experiances with this big fellow. Ironically this was the first time I had been to Kuftal tunnel, and all of the camps by the zones were taken. So we camped right on that little ledge and about 2hrs later he popped.

Everyone was like wtf is that?! "Wow that thing is really huge..." "Do you think we can take it?" "Impossible to gauge...I dunno" (Me) "Lets try, we have escape if it gets ugly." This is how the conversation went basically. Then the RNG goes out and was like "{Fishing}Guivre->(G-5)TP38%". By the time the RNG got back to camp. He took a hit for like 600 damage @_@. I voked... he hit me 2x... WHM cure IVd... I invincibled, the BLM escaped^^;;;;;
 
Guivre is my best buddy in Kuftal. Last time we played tag. Gogo Flee x2 :D

Thinking back, you are probably right. He didn't attack right away, he had just finished off two people and was coming back and stopped right next to me, like he was deciding which way to go. Then he turned right at me, but even then didn't attack right away. It was almost as if he was sniffing me first.
 
I remember first seeing this big wyvern... I saw it and was just sneaked and like "cool a wyvern!!" and stayed far enough away (or so I thought) to get a decent picture and it came running at me and I was like "oh shit!" and ran the hell away and made it about 2 steps with blink and stoneskin up as a 54ish RDM XD
 
I was a corpse yesterday :P I never died to guirve and didn't yesterday either, although I died. After poor jender not knowing the dragon was up was on the way to camp with sneak, she eventually died and our rdm scrumpy later to the dragon as well, he was a good sport about it as well.

On the way to catch up to alanon who just ran out of silent oils I missed seeing my own sneak fade off, big mistake :lol: I was going to alanon because I could give him my spare oils/ a sneak, guess we didn't reach that point.

But oh well, thanks alot to multani our ninja for switching to his whm and giving some R3s at the expense of later getting aggro and dying twice, only time was wasted except for mult.../praise Multani

Then our 5 man static +healer pick up finally got underway, chain 4ing crabs at 51-52, not a bad run at all.
