Hay guys,

A few months ago, I stumbled across a press article covering the development and showcasing of this new online game.

It looks and sounds truely amazing in terms of technology content.

Here is the thirty-five minute Googled video showcasing the game, do watch it!:

EDIT: Another video I found recorded at E3 2006 (also very funny to watch feat. Robin Williams)

What are you thoughts and opinions?

Spore isn't going to be an MMO. It's online content is downloadable "replacement" planets which have other players stuff on them. Atleast, from my understanding. The Gameplay mechanics are way too in depth to be an MMO, not to mention how much hardware its going to end up using.

Yeah, it's not an MMO. What it does is connect to online servers where it downloads the creatures that other people made onto your computer, where the computer runs them the way it thinks they should be run. And of course your game sends your creatures to the server for other people to download. It's a cool idea really, but not an MMO.

I hadn't seen the E3 2006 video yet, thanks for posting it!

I've had my eye on this game for quite a while, and I'm very excited about its release. I imagine when it is in fact released I'll be taking a considerable break from FFXI to do nothing but play this game. It just seems so well thought out and fun, it's really amazing.

That second video was hillarious!

I just can't wait for this to be released, so I can waste hours making some kickass race to tear up the galaxys :)

According to the creators, it's supposed to be an "offline MMO". Like said, your game downloads other people's planets.

The really cool thing, is it offers a potentially endless offline experience.

I loved Robin Williams creature, heh... natural selection at its best! <.<;

What.. no flyers?

So the way I'm getting this is that you're never playing with 'other people', just 'other peoples' creations?

ie: the other creations around you are completely autonomous and not controlled by any other real person, but they can still see your creations and kill them if they want to, in their version of the game?

Yeah, it is basically offline MMO which is perfectly fine in my opinion. I just wonder how often it will download your content. I just have a feeling a lot of people will get bored once they get to space travel and just gank new planets as they are downloaded into their system.

My ameba will pwn your ameba j0 n00b.

Thats the purpose. Universal conquest with the creature you created.

Also, when you get one species to the highest in the evolutionary chain, you can start another on the SAME planet as the first, and they will react to eachother.

It's like digital antfarm, to the extreme.

This looks insane, and addictive. I can see myself playing this for days straight ><

SPAWN MORE OVERLORDS

Wow, If anyone has not seen the second movie, where Robin Williams comes up to play (at about the 20 minute mark, so you know), you MUST watch it. He did a great job, and was funny as hell too.

Agreed Blaine, and you also get to find out he's an avid gamer! Robin williams is a god among men.

Im already addicted to that game and its not even out yet. the data is procedualy (prob spelled it wrong) generated. You make a creature and it looks at it and find other peoples creatures that balance your environment. The people that play the game basicly make a large majority of the content of the game. The universe in this game in limitless since millions of people will be playing this game there will be millions of planets in the universe to explore even though there world will be AI controled.
