Im really pumped about this game, and I cant wait for it to be released. About a year or two ago, cant quite remember, I came across one of the demo videos for it on google video, and ever since then Ive been anticipating its released, which is still TBA from my knowledge. But basically in this game, you start out as a very small single celled organism, and you evolve, and keep evolving through different stages of the game, becoming more advanced (such as becoming fish, then lizards, then humanoids, then aliens, etc.) Creating your creatures is completely unique. You create what you play as any way you want. If you fail to survive, then you basically fail the game.

Check it out:

Saw this a long time ago, the level of control looks interesting.

Will Wright is God

As much as I hate the Sims games, Will Wright is truely one of the greatest game designers of all time.

ya... I dont wanna necro it, since most necro'd threads get locked. And as for the pc requirements, I think its going to be multi-platform (on playstation, xbox, pc and wii)

Dont quote me on that, but I think thats what its gonna be. The sims games also have a habit of being multi platform as well.

Last year at E3 I got to meet Will Wright at the expo and saw a 20 minute demo of the game. Love the level of detail that goes into the creature creation, and the wide scope of the game looks amazing.

I'm just hoping this doesn't become another Fable/Black & White, a game that becomes too many promises and doesn't deliver.

I also can't wait to see the online aspect with trading creatures with other people, I could only imagine what people here will come up with (Will has made carnivorous Carebears in one video, looked hilarious). If I can customize it enough to make a creature resemble a Prinny, I'm sold.

I remember them saying it was gonna be available for portable gaming systems like PSP and DS, or so they were working on.

I'm pretty sure you can, they are really easy shape-wise and from what I saw in that creation device thingy that it seems possible

Nothing about the game seemed truly system intensive, honestly. Thats not a bad thing, but I've got a pretty average system, and can run big things like Oblivion no problem, with decent settings. Half-life 2 and Doom 3/Quake 4 with fairly high settings.

So as long as you can do that, you Spore should be no issue I'd wager. You have to remember, demos are running at the highest settings.

that's true :P but my motherboard, my graphic's card, my RAM, and my CPU are all about.. hmm 5 or more years old now. I really could use new ones for my games (and so I can play Battlefield 2 x.x) and I don't think Oblivion will work either cause of my graphics card alone (or so that little test said for the PC Test).

yeah, I saw this game a long time ago :o me wants ^^

Most Maxis games are cross-platform. They aren't always the exact same game but the literal title still remains cross platform.
