Square and their "Anti-MPK" measures.....

I've been trying to level BST...I actualy solo'ed to 24 last night and was quite proud of myself, a small victory but still a victory.

Today I log in...head out to Rolanberry and get agro'ed by a Goobue, but due to massive luck I'm able to grab a Death Wasp and save my life. While my Wasp fights I sit and heal....keeping an eye open for another Wasp. My wasp dies....I grab a 2nd Death Wasp....he fights the Goobue and I grab a 3rd one when it dies....sadly it's a Tough Death Wasp but I'm able to charm it.

Meanwhile I see a DRK around 58-60 (he had all his AF but 1 piece) shadowing me...he follows me all over while I run and grab wasps. Well as I'm sure you can imagine my Charm wears off and I'm forced to recharm but in the 1 second between charm wearing and me recharmin....that asshole, son-of-a-bitch DRK stuns my goddamn wasp! I'm dead in a single hit and calling a GM a half-second later. Here's what the first GM told me "Our new anti-MPK measures make MPK'ing impossible as such this was NOT an MPK, thank you for calling us and good day". He cut me off at this point so I called again and asked for a Senior GM....instead I get another junior who tells me exactly the same thing...word for goddamn word...and not to keep calling and wasting time.

I can't even have a proper flame by naming this Dark Knight since his name was the all too familiar XWKPRMA-such-and-such. No idea what the hell it's supposed to mean but goddamn it why can't people mind their own goddamn business and let BSTs alone, especialy when we're not near any other parties!?!
 
sounds like an mpk to me, if he was infact following you around the whole time.
 
Yea, I guess SE thinks that can just ignore any MPKing now since they did that update.......that WILL definatly come back to bite SE in the ass. Dumbass GMs.
 
Ouch, man that sucks. Yeah, SE seems to headstrong in thier attempt to get rid of MPKing. There are still many many possible ways. but still, Im sorry that happened to you. =\
 
He was probably mad you were taking the goobbues he farms while endlessly lfping. Sucks.

Anywho.......doesn't sound much like a proper mpk, sounds like a DRG being a dick.....and not much else.
 
And I can't believe I put DRG instead of DRK.......fuck me ; ;
 
Yeah.. there was a DRK who would cast spells on the crawlers I was obviously going for while he had other crawlers by his side..hitting him. Maybe the same guy.

But on topic.... my boyfriend was partying in Garlaige's basement when this BST was MPKing his party by fighting bombs close to his party (and thus died when the bomb did its AoE) So all of his party members called the GM, and all the GM said was the same exact thing. I think that is total crap because they can't just turn the other way and ignore that... They should seriously get their act together. I'm sorry that happened to you. =(
 
I would have kept calling or called POL customer support for some number to reach an actual person. They tend to have a differant story when you talk to them in person.
 
Actualy I sent an e-mail through their website and I got a reply back in less than an hour...WOW I thought...then I opened it "Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention." and then a line of code tacked on the end that to me looks like an automation code left by an automatic reply system. Maybe I'm just a cynical old Tarutaru but this sounds alot like a "Don't call us....we won't call you" sort of deal to me >.<
 
Well it's not MPK... but you will get used to having random idiots kill your last pet, and dying because of it (as a BST).

It's the nature of the job...
 
He followed me and stunned my pet when the charm wore off and before I could recharm it....he had to have it pre-targeted to beat me so it was premeditated....sounds like an MPK to me.
 
MPK is using a mob to kill another player. The traditional methods of doing this have been to bind/shadowbind a mob next to someone, or to move an aggro/linking mob next to someone. This is what's been removed in the last update.

Stealing pets/potential pets, while an asshole thing to do, is within the rules as any "yellow" mob is fair game (by the rules of the game). The mob that you aggroed killed you, not one that was moved onto you by another player....

It sucks (and it's happened to me a few times already as a 42 BST), but that's how it is. You learn to suck it up and get on with levelling...
 
Even if it was mpk, your fellow Bsts at Allakazham are too busy spamming SE with what's most likely insulting hatemail over the mpk adjustment, that I don't think SE's customer service is taking any mpk call seriously at the moment, especially from a Bst. If Rangers threw a fuss at their adjustment, Bsts are taking it to a whole new level. I wouldn't be surprised if anything even remotely mpk related is promptly shutdown without a conversation.
 
I don't think I've ever been on the BST forum at Allah... It's blocked here... (used to spend a lot of time on the RDM forum though...)

But hey, if feels good to blame me because SE won't punish someone else (who isn't actually breaking the rules, but is just being an ass), then go for it...
 
I'm not blaming you. I'm saying that SE's probably not taking customer service on topics related to Bst and MPK seriously because of the Bsts on Allakazham causing so much hassle. I wasn't blaming you, I was blaming the other people in your job who have less restraint.
 
sucks how they dealt with your situation (the guy obviously tried fucking with you), but you did knowingly charm a mob that would probably lose its charm sooner than later (you said you knew it was Tough, Tough charms dont last long unless you're wearing AF or have Charm+ gear)

if it was just an aggroed goobbue and you were aware of what this guy was doing, you should have just put 1 wasp on it, and ran to the zone
