Square Enix lowered their earnings forecast yesterday for the first part of the fiscal year which ended September 30, 2010. The reduction done was at 10.5% to $846 million (¥68 billion). This is a lot lower than the same period last year which was at ¥90.6 billion.

Another thing SE lowered was their net income expectations for the two quarters to $21 million (¥1.7 billion). This is a reduction of around 29% from the original forecast.

The reason for the decline according to Square Enix is due to the "challenging operation environment" i.e new games experience "slow growth". However, thanks to major titles such as Final Fantasy XIII and more released in March of the previous fiscal year Square Enix operation income remains high.

Soon SE will release its actual second fiscal quarter results.

I found 13 lacked a lot of side content. I wish we could have gotten back to that amusement-like place after the game was over, but all we have are the silly ci'eth stone missions. I still have about 13-14 more of those to beat, but I haven't felt motivated to do them all or max out every single rank. Otherwise, the story was done quite well but not as great as most other FFs.

There's the two new FF-like games on facebook that just came out recently, maybe and hopefully that will do well for SE. It could bring in a lot of new players to FF since facebook has 500 million users. Although one of the games (Knights of the Crystal) seems like a copycat of mafia wars. I really enjoy KotC though.
