Look i dno how many times this issue has been brought up and if it has been said a lot, plz lock this thread if it doesnt need to be said again

But i need to say this, cus there is still too much bitching about the AH price

OK, stop bitching about price jacking, it is gettin seriously annoying hearing everyone whine and complain about somone jacking the price of an item. This is basic economics people. You sell shit for what people will pay for it.

And dont act for a second like you wouldnt jack the price up on an item you want to sell yourself. Defining line behind selling is, sell it for as much as you can possibly get. The only reason you dont is cus you dont think you can get the ammount your looking for.

Not one person here nobally puts something up for sale at the going price b/c they want to be nice, you do it cus thats what you think you can get. Also, if an item is jacked up its for a reason. It doesnt just happen for nothing, something happend to cause it and if it does happen then it cant be wrong. This econamy runs exactly like the U.S. system and guess how well that works. It works like a charm

So plz... just shut up about it

Supply and demand? Like for example... Igqira Weskit. When I bought it well over a year ago, it was under 700k. Now look at the price because of the outburst of BLMs.

It depends, though. I think it makes the game more realistic if there's more increase and decrease in prices. Supply and demand are huge influencing in price, just like the real world. Hence why Astral Rings are more expensive than most other rings in the game, and why oil and gas in real life is growing in price. However, when people jack the price of something by like 300,000g for their own personal gain, that's just greed and promotes gilbuyers, which in turn promotes gilsellers, which promotes noobs and hate, and makes people wanna quit, which increases prices again because there's more demand. The more gilsellers, the more expensive things are gonna be. Lately, I've been trying to sell things for a lot less than I got them from to help out the lesser-level characters. No one's gonna wanna buy something that's like 1,000g if it's only worth like 200g. I remember when I was a young level, and 1,000g was a hellova lot of money to me.

Jacking a price up by 300k is not greed it is a form of makeing profit
If people are gona pay up for it then there is no fault in doing that at all its called being an Euntrapanuer (i cant spell it im sry) They are willing to take the risk to make huge chunks of money and if people go for it, then they have succeeded. It is in no way their fault for pulling that off, mearly the consumers will to buy. Jack it up enough and people will eventually stop.

SO truly jacking up the price by that much has no effect on promoting gil sellers b/c people are still willing to cough up the dough.

This is why it is not a bad thing to pull it off. People find different ways to make money and this just happens to be one.

If you dont want it to be a problem for you, go out and make the money you need instead of relying on luck to get what you want, this is also why the rich people are rich, they work for it instead of waisting their time complaining about how they dont want to pay more for it.

Damn Scapegoats...

Everyone says that gil buyers are the only people with the cash to buy jacked shit but thats bull. There are honest players who have their own means of making cash and are stinking rich because of it (i bet at least 1/3 people who read this know someone who has 20mil+ with them pretty much constantly). To them 300k jack is chump change and are willing to pay it. Hell i would think the gil buyers are less likely to buy it than honest players because they have to actually pay for it and not just spend an hour or w/e to make the cash back.

And yeah any item is worth what someone will pay for it, if it is not worth the price in your opinion then just wait for the idiots (or rich bastards) who keep it high to have all bought it already.

If anyone remembers the prices Archer's Rings were, they'll also remember how much the prices for it went up. They used to be 500k steady before SE changed the loot tables, and after that change, they skyrocketed, regardless of how many were on the market. I remember checking and seeing I think 13 on the AH in jeuno once. That was unheard of.

Once the pool of Archer's Rings dried up (from people synthing a diminishing number of them), the prices went up, and up, and up... Simple demand > supply in action there; everyone remembers how popular Sniper's rings were.

There's a few things that can be done to lower prices (for relatively common items), we need to do two things.

1) some items are nice status items, which can be passed up in favor for items which aren't as nice, but relatively just as effective. PCC is nice, but not something which is so important that you absolutely have to have it (like many consider the SH).

2) demand shouldn't outpace supply -as much- on really popular/practical things. In many ways, only SE can fix this. (I'm pretty sure that almost every endgame person on any server hates camping Fafnir, or the Relic Weapons countless people have given up hope on). What people don't pay in money, they pay in time.

Bitching about gilsellers or gilbuyers doesn't help either of these problems which perpetuate the economic imbalance in the game.

Yup just like Reishu said "ONly SE can fix this" and until they do I'm going to quit for a while lol I'm tired of all their mistakes. Job nerfs which really did it and the NM drop rate %. Hope they fix it when I get back. Muhphukers > > If they didn't mess with those I'd be a happy lil addicted game freak paying $12 a month and inflation would be as bad as it is now.

Feel sorry for all you losers who actually bought gil to afford your shit lol You know who you are .. and so do I lmao haha

I get rather tired of heaing people bash gil buyers. Seriously. Gil buying is usually caused by peer pressure becasue there are people who only invite the best of the best equipment wearing people and thus gil buyers are born. Gil sellers on the other hand to entirely get my full support. Gil selling is low, kinda, because gil sellers are usually the ones that jack up the prices on stuff. However, they recieve bashing by doing only was given to them. I see it as "If God gives you lemons made lemonade." which is exactly what they are doing. And don't try that "If God gives you lemons demand apples." crap because it just doesn't work that way.
On topic of the thread: I honestly hate seeing things I want go up in price. Being a Summoner with no other high leveled jobs means I don't have the oppurtunity to go camp all these nifty NM's and get the claim with Provoke or Stun. Dia is fast, yes, but not fast enough. Especialy against a Red Mage because of their fast cast ability. Also being a Summoner I am not able to go and just farm anything. Ninjas can because they would not have nearly as much downtime because of their shadows or a Thief because they can mug/steal and then use Hide. I also do not get lots of invites for BCNM's. BCNM 40 is one of the better BC's and being a Summoner I never get invited to one...EVER. I have a Lv.40 Orb that has been sitting in my Mog House for nearly a year now because no one wants a Summoner for BCNM 40. So, seeing something like Astral Ring at like 1 mil gil is very disapointing or seeing something I would like to have like Vermy Cloak cost so much gil when it isn't even THAT useful.

Gil buying is against the rules of FFXI. You break the law you'll get arrested just like irl. lol Plain and simple.

I know what we should do! To get back at them gilsellers...... Camp NM's!!!! Camp them all!!!!! Mwahahhahahahahaha!!!!
