So in english class, we have to analyze Hamelt. Woo-hoo -____-

anyways. i got assigned Hamlet as seen as having an Oedipus (sp?) complex, which is basically having the hot for his mom.

In the middle of class, Stacy's mom popped into my head, and got an idea for a parody of it. This is what i came up with, i think its not that bad, lol.

Hamlet's mom has got it goin on...

Hamlet's quite upset that his father's gone (father's gone)
Now he thinks he can put the moves on his mom (moves on his mom)
But did he notice his uncle has the same in mind ( same in mind)
Will she choose him, or does Hamlet need a knife? (need a knife)

You know, He kinda reminds me of Oedipus
But just like him, Hamlet's just pursuin' bliss

Hamlet's mom has got it goin on
She's all he wants, and he's waited so long
Claudius can't you see, she's just not the girl for thee
He knows it might be wrong but, Hamlet's in love with his mom.

Claudius killed the king so he could get the queen (get the queen)
He didn't realize her son was so mean. (was so mean)
He think this marriage is good and just all for fun. (all for fun)
He wanted Gertrude, but not as much as her son. (as much as her son)

Hamlet knows that he can't just let them be,
Since he thinks, "Hey she's open game for me"

Claudius can't you see, she's just not the girl for thee
He knows it might be wrong but, Hamlet's in love with his mom.

I'mma be performing this in class tomorrow :D weee. Shakespear isnt bad when you have fun with it ^^.

i thought you were talkin about the taru blm on our server for a sec cause i just read the parody xD
 
just for random knowledge Opedius had the hots for his mom but he didnt know it was his mom - the story goes -

there was a king of a great kingdom and his wife bore him an are to his thrown, the soothseer told the king that if his son were to live he would kill the king and take the thrown

the got frighted and order his highest guard to take his son and kill him

instead the guard secretly took his son to a far away country and left him there(the guard did not want to kill a baby)

20 years later

the abandon baby grows into a man and travels to the kingdom that he came from (but he dosent know about his origins)

he begins to walk along a narrow path to the kingdom and meets a man in the middle(his father) the king says to the boy move out of my way or i will kill you, the boy says it would be easy if we just walked by eachother to move along, at that point the king got angry and drew his sword attempting to kill the boy only to have the boy take his sword and kill him instaed (prophecy forfilled =P)

upon arrivle in the kindom a guard reports that the boy killed the king so the knigdom decided to make the boy the new king

to make a long story short, Opedius knocks his mom up alot (he dosent know it was his mom) gets her pregnant, the soothseer reveals the truth about who Opedius really is to him and his mom, Opedius goes nuts and claws out his eyes

I'm alittle scketchy on the details of the story but that is the jist of it
 
reading Hamlet was rough the first time, but seeing the play rocked ass.

Nice parody ^^
 
dude Demonchild... Hamlet is AWESOME... its my favorite piece of literature/play. You can read it over and over again and see someting different every single time. I even bought a first folio edition in the original text. <3 Shakespeare.

But your little song made my LOL irl dude. Seriously.

As for the Oedipus complex and Hamlet.. never could buy that theory.. just doesn't hold water for me.

Ah I love The Doors don't you? Applies nearly perfectly to Opedius.

Demon if I remember correctly you and I are the same age. If I'm correct that would make you a senior in high school and you're only starting to get into Shakespear? I did Shakespear Freshman year I just find odd.

Julius Caesar>Hamlet>Romeo and Juliet> the rest of his stuff stinks so far...

not a Shakespeare work but Cyrano de Bergerac was something enjoyed

so...to Demon I'm guessing Ophelia just went out of town for awhile?=P

my view of shakespeare

he's a hack.. no talent, unoriginal, hack. >.> seriously.. all his plays are greek mythologies and stories (or Roman). Sure his "english" skills might have been amusing for the time, but they are too different now and dull. So, meh :|

Considering the Oedipus complex is thrown out by the current psychological community, yea, I'd say it's bs.
