I'm starting to realize what a dumbass mistake I made trying to level EVERY character I had evenly...This explains how friggin hard some of the boss fights were.

Nel, Cliff, and Fayt ftw. Let the AI's play Cliff and Fayt while playing kite and heal with Nel. <3

I got burned out on the game because it was the only entertainment during the month long recovery of hurricane Ivan. --; Funny that this topic came up though because I was thinking about picking it up again or Star Ocean 2 (loooong non skippable cutscenes x.x).

Gabriel was easy when i applied the "meat puppet" strategy.

Just use 2 characters as distractions while you manualy controll one.

Damn, fayt and cliff are dead. Meat puppets arise!

Never got to lenneth tho, got close, but then decided to start playing Universe level and never got back to climbing Sphere 211.

5x Boots of Prowess, one maxed red and blue talisman (the take no HP/MP damage 30% ones) and a Spirit of Lillith.

30% attack/defence 5 times, no hp/mp damage 30% of the time, and attack decision +3

ah, star ocean... the only thing in the world where there is LESS proportion/scale than DBZ.

the synth system lets you break the game.... you take a crazy sword... then synth a couple boots of prowess and Orichalcum(highly upgraded) and that scroll dealy... you have a sword dishing out half a mil a swing... and you can make these things en mass <_<

mmm....ya i just wanted to point out, fayt is the strongest char in the game because of sidekick. you can easily cancel it as much as you like, it does good damage and you're invincible while doing it. i think mara must remember that uber SO3 guide we found that was basically a shrine to worship side kick?

Nel is.... OK... her leaf armor dealy move can be a cheesy damage dealer.

Cliff rawks. that's really all there is to say.

Mirage is cool, but she isn't cliff.

Maria is queer.

Albel is only good in PvP minigame (and even then sophia will stomp him).

I don't even know if anyone else is worth mentioning except to say i wish you couls kill roger.

*edit* btw, tag, not getting albel is the easiest source of infinite boots of prowess... why would you ever get him?

That and since its a choice between him and Nel, it's easy to see why people would not get him.

And Maria may be queer, but she's queer with the most retarded beam move of the game. Energy Burst rapes the shit out of everything. Except Hammer of Might, because doing 99,999 twice is never a bad thing.

Maria is queer.

Maria has a move that is infinite chain, I think. Aiming Device, I think it was. Either Infinite or pretty damned close to it, it's been a while since I played. I just stood back as Maria and spammed Aiming Device, worked like a charm.

Well, there's Peppita, Nel, Roger, and Albel. You must pick two of the four. Who in their right mind would pick Peppita or Roger? I actually got Albel before Nel, Albel wins for wearing a skirt and is just fun, lol.

Nah its two of the four. I got Nel and Albel. I think you just have to be specific about when you get them. Like you can get Nel first, but that'll screw up getting Albel. Something like that if I remember correctly.

I personally loved this game. Never got to actually try 4d mode but managed to beat all the bosses on Universe mode. Lenneth kicks butt ^^.

I've heard that Sophia pwns at higher levels too, but I never got around to leveling her seriously to try out her magic skills.

Quoted for the ultimate Truth. I even bought a Cliff statue thing. He defends my PC from thieves. Anyone tries to steal it, he does Hammer of Might and they explode in awesomeness.

Nope. Bradygames made a decent strategy guide for once and you can indeed get Albel second and Nel first. But why get Nel when you can have Albel and man-skirt first!

I gotta go replay this game now. It was so much fun ^^
