StarCraft 2 Official!

Secret Mission: There's a secret mission that does come up where you are the protoss commander Zeratul and you land on a planet.. finding weird experiments going on. combining Zerg and Protoss to create.. odd things. You find out Duran is doing this, on his own, and he claims he's still lying in wait for his Masters to return. Masters that are not Zerg, Protoss, or Terran, from what I've gathered :P

The "Masters" are likely what remains of the Xel'Naga. Two facts are what point to this: They're the only other race mentioned. And they're the race that influenced the Protoss and Zerg to be what they are, so theres a reason to be testing on both and creating hybrids.

I think they completely made the zerg what they are :P but they sorta aided the Protoss growth. While genetically screwing with the Zerg themselves (I think) they just supported the culture and growth, technologically, of the Protoss. At least that's what I gathered. And I supposed the Masters are remnants of or the Xel'Naga themselves too, but since we don't know yet, I'm just gonna leave it as "masters" since Blizzard could, for some weird reason, throw in some new faction, race, something.

I do hope they, or at least someone, makes a DotA mod/style of play for multiplayer.

Why? DoTA sucks :| SUCKS! crappy ass unbalanced dull map full of noobs. ToB > DoTA any day :P just cause it actually requires team work... the only reason not as popular.. noobs can't pick an unbalanced hero and pwn with it so easily (though some heroes are a bit stronger and more annoying they take more work to be good with).

I remember reading something about that when Xel'Naga created the protoss, they were a failed race. Eventually Xel'Naga created the zerg starting with the overmind in hopes to create what was failed with the protoss. The overmind eventually formed the brood using the cerebretes and they using the overminds to control all the zerg forces. Eventually the Overmind was strong enough to overthrow the Xel'Naga. I can't remember if the Xel'Naga is completly dead or not so its hard to say if it'll create a new race. Plus I remember something in the story from the first starcraft being hinted of a protoss zerg hybrid. Maybe will see something like that in the new game. Doubtful but just a guess.

Protoss weren't a failure, they were.. oh how did the Overmind say it in the one Zerg mission.. something like "They were perfect in form while we were perfect in (whatever)" or was it the reverse.. it's something like that. And the Overmind didn't kill the Xel'Naga. I think they just kinda left. He knew of something about their experiments as he says (or one of the protoss say it during a mission) that he's completing the experiments the Xel'Naga started long ago. It's been awhile since I've played through.. hmm

Protoss were perfect in form, and the zerg were perfect in mind.
At least thats what i remember, damn long time since i played it.

I dunno, I got the failed thing from the history written in the instruction manual that comes with the origial. Maybe I misunderstood something but thats what I remember reading. Maybe Xel'Naga thought they were failed but the protossed evolved and turned out to be perfect. They are over 200+ years old. I haven't seen the story in a long while so i don't doubt what you all say is true about the whole pefrect form and mind thing.

They are FAR older than 200 years old :P hell, in Brood Wars, Zeratul says to Raszagal (or whatever her name is) "I have served you for millenia now and I have not seen you like this" or something to that effect :P I do remember the millenia part.

Thats right, I forgot about that part. I say 200s because the instruction manual had profiles and for someone of the heros and it said 200 some odd years. Must of been a young lad lol. I'm gonna read the instruction book again and see what all is going on.

Yeah, Artanis was only 200some years old. All other 'toss characters were like 500-800, with the dark templar elder woman being over 1000.

I take it you failed at DotA :/ Such a shame, it's a lovely form of play if you do it right.

I don't fail at DoTA.. I find it boring as hell. It has always been unbalanced piece of shit. There are only a few heroes that are worth getting cause they are overpowered and then ya... it really boils down to who can hit level 6 first in that game and get one of the fairly good items and then that's that. At least in ToB it's far harder to get the great items and even if you have a fairly strong hero they aren't strong enough to assault a base without getting pwned.

DoTA, all those types of maps suck and are boring and people take them way to seriously.

Why? There really is a leaked beta version on that website!

See, I disagree. Completly... Two rules; 1: Don't Pug 2: Don't Pug. Those rules solve everything.

Ya, that could fully be my problem :P though I have played a few private games with the clan I was in (and other clans) that were ToB clans (ToB, USA, SDS or something like that and other crap.. but ya) and it was fun but I still found ToB far more enjoyable :P the spells, the need for team work (I mean, even in a private game there was the obvious overpower of characters). Sure ToB wasn't perfect either (warden could be abused horribly but only in the beginning) but it was far more balanced than DoTA XD

anyways, I wonder what kinda fun things Starcraft 2 will have :P
