Thats it, you know, Sculli is right, we do need a topic about bad players to avoid teaming up with, because honestly sometimes you'll have to deal with the stupidty that I had tonight.

Alright, I just got level 12 Ninja, you know what that means, Blink Tanking time! So I buy 3 stacks of 99 Shihei (sp?), a stack of Mithkabobs, my next set of armor and 2 level 13 katanas so I can equip it the moment I level, I honestly want to put in my best effort so I can truly make the PT work well.
WAR subbed of course, Macros set for everything, one telling secondary tank to voke off so I can cast Utsusemi: Ichi and voke again, only thing I didn't get was some shurikens, I forgot till it was too late, but I doubt at level 12 theres much to choose from, didn't look though.

So I start going to Valkurm Dunes, a LS buddy has a PT and has a slot open, I get there, we have me NIN, MNK, DRG, WHM, BRD, and I believe another MNK, I forget. It's going great IMO, we pull Lizards and gobs, everything is fine. Finally someone has to leave, and we need a melee, so we get a Galka MNK.

I swear, if you have to PT with a Galka named "Bigdogg", prepare for a hell of a experience.

Starting from his Boost Macro which spams in Party talk "DOGG THIS SHIT IS GETTING ME HYPED UP!" every 15 seconds, to his Provoke macro which says "DOGG THIS SHIT IS GETTING ME FUCKED UP!" and emotes Bigdogg fumes at <t>. Or perhaps him pulling maybe once every 5-7 minutes, ending our XP chains completly and trouncing our XP to hour rate. He needs constant replies to pull already, even though the PT is in full HP and MP. Going AFK for quite awhile, his provoke macro never tells when Provoke is ready, when my shadows are gone, I use my macro for telling the secondary tank to voke off, if it wasn't for the DRG/WAR mithra in our PT, I would be dead so fast. Pulling snippers and not checking it's strength, resulting in almost killing the whole PT.

Honestly, I've played this game since day 1, October 26, first day it was out on PC, and I have never been with someone this bad. I've had bad Pt's but usually those are just regular dumb mistakes. This guy was on another level, we would tell him to change his macros, would not listen, even though he had nothing useful, how the fuck do we know what HYPE and FUCK and all this other crap has to do with the battle. He said he doesn't diss our macros, so don't diss his, cause you know, ours have useful info like when Provoke is ready and our TP for skillchains.

Alright, my rant is over, there, I said a name, I don't care about the shit I may hear, I was in that PT in the beginning, I had more XP in less than one hour before he came then the last 3-4 hours he was there. We should have booted him, seriously, I feel like a idiot for not trying to do it, but from now on, screw it, no more babysitting dumbasses, sometimes its just to fill a 6th slot, but this is the first time I would have rather stayed a 5 person PT and I think we would have done better. :x

BTW, start naming names! This is a flame board! Waiting to hear from other people!

this is touchy...i think specifically for this thread, anon posts should be allowed to avoid badblood between players. I mean, to red letter someone as a bad player isnt cool because we all improve. I mean, i can name a good list of names, but i really wouldnt wanna be identified while doing so, its like narking on someone....the lowest of low acts. Dunno...in a way we're trying to watch out for eachother, but as the same time, we're screwing others. This would yhonestly be better as like an email group or somehting. If you wanna know, then know, if not, then no need to join.

Don't want to know, don't read the flameboard, or this thread or whatever.

In an online game the reputation is all you have. If you care to lose it by being a prick, then so be it, read all about it on QCDN.

This is not meant to be the "flame the newbie" thread, but the "flame people who should know better and are unwilling to change even if everyone agrees that they are annoying, rude, stupid, whatever".

i agree not to dis the newbies and everyone learns, but some people dont learn. my good real life friend plays and is lv 20 somethin warior and he cant figure out how to be a good tank or a good puller. He has always been bad and never seems to learn even if i tell him he sucks at it. its not his fault, just not his type of game i guess.

But people who just do dumb stuff should be named. Ive played with some dumb people who have no right to be playing. the other day i was working on lv 6 whm for subjob and some ass who just got invited pulled a wild dahmel (sorry im from bastok dont know if that is right name) that was IT. he immediately zoned and left party. didnt do too much harm being lv 6 and all but still an ass hole thing to do. if i remembered his name i would say but memory is not my strong point. lol!

it's one thing to name a bad player, because, they CAN improve . . .

but it's a completely different kettle of fish naming morons and assholes . . .
because there are people out there who are simply termial fools.

And the only way that people like that will learn is when their reputation catches up to them in game.

the funny thing about naming "names" is that though someone may have felt slighted or believe that some particular "horrible" player or person may deserve to be /pointed & /laughed at here, thats simply the posters opinion.
i don't think that posting somthing like that against people is in the nature of fun and good gaming as ffxi is intended to be.
and it Is true that people earn reputations ingame, be they good or bad, and they do it of their own actions and accord. help is probably Not needed for them to have their characters name sperad around as someone to watch out for.
my resoning is this: i prefer not to judge a person by the words of another. i'd much rather come to my own in game conclusions. when it comes right down to it ffxi is nothing more than a colorful, virtual chat-room, and who's to say that i may not deny myself the comradship of someone i'd never otherwise get to meet because of the somewhat (and forgive me here, but any post on this topic would be so) biased and unproven words (to me, the second hand reader) of another.
just my .02 cents. lets keep things fun! ^^
people will become known without help.
~Synical

Hey Synical. I have seen you around a lot in Jeuno and such. You are a topic of discussion occasionally in my LS as we have someone named Syn and he flips out whenever someone takes his catchphrase. Joking, he is a good guy, just likes to be funny.

Ok im not saying do NOT party with this person, im just saying that I have given him two chances when i really did not want to and both times he screwed it up. I know he already has a bad reputation but he seems to be gaining levels faster than me. His name is Ethar. He is the ONLY person i have B-listed in the whole game. This is actually a somewhat humours account....

So i finally hit 30 and wanted to start leveling up some advanced jobs so i pick up Dark Knight to try out. Love the job by the way. So i finally got to 10 or 11 and i decide it might be time to party. So i get an invite from Ethar. Now like i said ive had bad blood with him already but i decided to give him a second chance. So i join the party and its actually a great setup. So as we are all gathering and talking, he mentions that he has no arrows. He seems to think this is no big deal but he was a ranger. I intend for my main job to be ranger so i took offense to this. This is exactly what i said...."Umm no offense, but a Ranger without arrows is not going to be very effective. In fact they are almost useless." So about 2 minutes later in party chat comes the reply. "I wouldnt be talking Faedryth cause you have no armor to speak of. So if you dont like it then feel free to disband cause i have a summoner waiting to join anyways." So not liking his tone, i disband. I think it is ridiculous that he is already trying to leech levels as a ranger. Yes, the fact that i had two pieces of armor at level 10 was bad, but my effectiveness was in my weapon and spells. I would have had no problem if he was using wooden arrows rather than bone arrows, but no arrows is ridiculous. So i find the summoner that he was talking about and i send a tell saying that Ethar is trying to leech the party and he might want to reconsider joining. I get a reply saying that he had already blacklisted him which got me laughing good. So then another few minutes go by and i get another invite from.....Ethar! I thought this was too funny. So i declined and blacklisted him. I heard some people talking about him in jeuno last night. They made him seem to be a great guy and all, i threw out that i thought he was a tool and nobody said anything after that.

I know im not the greatest player in the game, but you will never catch me as a ranger, when i finally get going on it, without arrows at the BEGINNING of a party outing.

hi synical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its me!!! Mithy. The mighty mithra of course =P

well... RSE was a flop. glad to see you here (i still have that key)

anyway..... back to the topic. Time to name some names.

petey. BLM. several chances to him. he WILL NOT party if you won't invite all his friends that he wants OR if you don't have a WHM.

he says he will only party if his friend cresto gets an invite. I'm like. "ok.. that makes up the entire party of 6 people" so i invite them.. then petey realizes we don't have a WHM but are using 2 RDMs. Lord knows 2 mithra RDM can never EVER beat a WHM that isn't there. (none were seeking). Well.. petey can't handle this and starts calling me a n00b for making the party like this. I'm saying WTF? there is no WHM out there. and then his friend cresto joins in almost copying everything petey says.

so.. our PLD gets pissed at petey and cresto and starts calling them n00bs. then petey and cresto are all You the fucking n00b. so i say SHUT THE HELL UP and i kick petey and cresto.

Now for Quititia (sp?) if you see him around, RUN.
We are in a party in garliage and he is a simple warrior. WITH a WHM sub.
so, Sicne there are no WHM around the one RDM (me) is sent to heal. This means slightly higher downtime. So i scarf down a pie and i have 2 juices left. So, Q as we call him just sits there. and lets me manually protect the party 1 by 1. (pre-protect 2 days) and you know what, His WHM sub is level 15 and he HAS PROTECTRA!!!!!!! so, while im wasting mp to protect the party 1 by 1. He could waste a small ammount to protect it all in 1 spell. So after 5 minutes of spamming him he finally understand that HE needs to PROTECTRA!!!!!! so, while i sit down after protecting and Q knows he will protectra next. The puller gets aggroed by a beetle while she is waiting for a bat on the other side of the little tiny walking space. so the beetle followed her over, and she can't do anything about it and tries to run deeper.

so, we enlist the help of the party next to us for a WHM's raise. The WHM says ok, but our main tank (PLD) and our BLM or RDM (only me) needs to come to voke is something goes wrong, and to sleep if something goes wrong.
so Q follows us out of curiosity when i told the whole party to stay back. and guess where he falls on his way there following us without telling us he was following. of course, he fell through the hole. so we kick him.

"Ignorence is bliss" but not when you don't know SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I got a new dumbazz to put up here. I dont know if any of you have ever had the misfortune of meeting Xcalade. He is what I would call, and okay player, but is a really really immature player and is just plain annoying.

I ptd with him once before like a day ago, and when I got the invite last night to a pt, i was like "Omg.. no.. *sigh* Oh well.." when i saw he was in the same pt. He is 16 and acts 13/14. Now, i dont have any problems with 16yr olds. I know some can actually be mature, and those are the kind of 16yr olds I dont mind hanging out with.

He is a Pld/War and he actually had the nerve to say "I'm not tanking utill i get a silk!" (we were at Crawler's Nest) The whm who was the leader straight up told him "Fine, then you'll get booted" I told Xcalade myself there were better Plds out there and that we could get another. He wasn't very good at keeping the hate, nor was he very responsive on provoking.

After our party broke up, I left and sent him a tell telling him he earned a spot on my /blist. He's now the third person I've ever put on my blacklist.

Both times ive seen him he has always had a girl name Auelin by him. Now I didnt mind her, for the most part she's okay. Didnt say stupid things, but for some reason she thinks Xcalade is nice/cool/whatever. I'd blacklist her.. but she was good for the most part, her only fault was liking that buttmunch Xcalade.

My whole night was pretty much ruined till i decided to lvl Sam, which made things better again. :)

Well... When starting off in FFXI, I went WAR/WHM for a while. The thing of it is though is that people would be skeptical about inviting me just because I subbed WHM. I was a "Hand-me-down Paladin". Some would invite me and immediately kick me afterwards because instead of watching me in action, they automatically thought I couldn't "Do my job right". If that's the case, why invite me at all? I got WAR/WHM to Lv. 50 that way, though. I was able to find a static PT that I was with for a while. They helped me out. And I actually pulled off being a Bastokan Elvaan WAR/WHM quite well... unlike the guy you seem to be talking about. In any case, there's alot of people on Quetzalcoatl who're quick to judge you just from looking at you. Everyone can't be expected to change, so people have to "Get with the program" and adapt, or... hahahaha... wind up being dissed on these forums! LOL

I've decided to adapt. Instead of going "WAR/WHM", I'm just gonna go "WAR/SAM" (I'm probably going to be using 2-handed weapons anyway)...

Yanzi (who invited me here) made an interesting point. "There aren't alot of Samurai because noobs don't know how to Skillchain". Yanzi's probably right; if that's the case, people like us are a "dying breed".

I won't give reasons because I will be typing all night but stay away from:
Thsatan
Acavar
Charmedone

I don't blist anyone unless they REALLY piss me off, so you can trust me on these delinquents

Things seem to slow down on the FB right now, maybe it's the holiday weekend, or maybe we just ran out of horror stories. Please do share when you have a spare moment, for the greater good (and entertainment) of all. :)

I don't remember why, but I have Thsatan blisted too. It was recent, just can't remembere why. Acavar's on my flist, but only partied with him when he first started.

Xcalade though... omg. I had the misfortune of leveling with him back when he was a WAR in Kazham. We're in a lvl 25 party, and he says he's not pulling because he's never been there. 20 minutes later he said he lied. He ended up doing the "Oh hey, I gotta go" and disbands.

Then I get him again in Yhoator. I decide to give him another shot. He decides he's going to pull... twice. Well, he wasn't the puller, so we almost die... twice. I told him to stop both times, and threatened to leave the party if he did it again ( I wouldn't have to, since he was going to be kicked by the leader). But he decides to just disband and call us names or somethinig. That's a perma-blist.

My blist is huge now. Mostly from people arguing over shout and the party that was "/em pees on <t>" happy in Qufim. I keep tabs on the guys that give no notice of leaving parties too. If they do it twice, /blist.

Well, I just started leveling WHM again after a long farming period and have to say I discovered some things. I have partied with my fellow NA members and with JP members. To be honest I like the JP way a whole lot more. It seems they set a certain amount of time to level in like say three to four hours and no one goes AFK or leaves. If one does leave then its end of party. I think this way is way better. People that start trying to party ought to take care of their business before hand and everyone level say for three or four hours and stay focused. That would end the whole "OH MY GOD HE DID NOT GIVE NOTICE DEBATE!" Sorry for the rant but face it our "The NA way" sucks.

It's a cultural difference.
Dedication is a lost virtue among many NA players, or people in general. JP players seem to have a much stronger sense of dedication.

Stronger dedication, and also a sense of decency. Along with common courtesy that is more than fleeting among NA players, and NA in general. Also, I hate to say this, and I know I am gonna get flamed for it, bust most of the rude ass NA players are young kids that don't even know what it is to have respect. The issue of the JP players not wanting to PT for the most part with any NA players is a very touchy subject for me Because I have had JP tell me no, because of "you rude NA players". And I can only thank the idiot immature NA for making it so easy to play with and communicate with the JP players.

If it weren't for children's protection acts, parents could still teach their kids about respect...Well, fear anyway.

Seriously, a lot of kids don't know respect. Don't help them.
They need to learn it sometime.

I totally agree about Xcalade. I pt'd with him once in Qufim, he was a pld, and all he did was complain. Whined about xp, complained mages could get mp fast enough (as if they could speed up time), didnt voke very often (as pld he was our tank) we were THIS CLOSE to just booting him, but I, and most people, feel booting is a last resort response. I'd rather ASK someone to leave than boot him. He was in my LS for about 1 night and after 5 minutes he was ordering people around and criticizing people who FOUNDED the shell. But on the subject of booting...

Gunmm. Whm. So INSANE he is on my very, very short (2 person) blacklist. He just LOVES to dump people. In a pt, a mnk pulled 5 seconds before the last two people showed to camp. Fine. since he used voke to pull it, we had trouble getting aggro from him and the mnk died. We all did fine. No big, he made a slight error. "I won't tolerate recklessness!" says Gunmm and boots him from the pt. DOESNT EVEN RAISE HIM!
I call him out, in /tell (not in front of the rest of the pt) and he wont let up. I leave the pt fearing that a vengeful mage may not heal me if I "step out of line". Soon, another is booted. I ask her, and she says she announced that she'd be "afk a min, her cat was trying to get out of the house" and he booted her for going AFK. Understandable in the middle of a battle, but not during rest! Astounding.
