Don't feel like necroing this thread, but there it is if you need the reference. Now, it has expanded from being just the chocobo stables in lower jeuno to Einherjar. These probably happened at the same time, I just hadn't done einherjar in a while so I was never in an opportunity to notice.

I have run the file checker and it's still happening; and now sometimes when I get close to the lower jeuno chocobo stables, my game occasionally crashes. Does anyone have any other ideas other than a complete re-install of the game?

Since file checker isn't coming up with anything, it might be a Windower issue. I'd also post this question on their forums as well.

That's a good point, I'll have to try logging in without using the windower to see if that's the problem.

Well, now I can't log in. Every time I log in my game crashes before it loads up my character; and it's doing this both with the windower and without it, so it must be the game.

that problem sux. ive had it where having signet or anything like that would cause it to crash. the problem your having originally is probably (95% sure) drivers. graphics issues of that sort will normally be drivers. your probably up to date on drivers, so revert to old ones. if those dont fix it, the ones before that should.

for the game crashing, your probably going to need to reinstall. as bad as that sounds, thats about all that is going to fix it.

Before you re-install it, I'd do what Master suggested and re-install your graphics drivers.

I'm not sure if you've seen the current list of known issues with Windower, so I'll post the link for the page.

Nothing about the corrupted sections of the game, and the fact that it's crashing when I'm not using any windower is leading me to believe it's not a windower problem, but the actual game. Thanks for the info though.

I had a similar problem about 2-3 years ago where at first body parts started disappearing, then more parts, mobs, random scenery and several other visual effects just didn't load in. It finally started effecting the game itself, not sure if it crashed, but I had a bit of trouble just logging in. I don't honestly know what caused it, but I had been messing with my video settings during the process and it only seemed to make things worse, until I just reloaded the drivers and lowered the resolution. Now I have no problems 3 years later unless I increase the resolution to it's original settings.

Similar problem happened to me as well. I reinstalled the driver for the graphics card and it didn't work. So I lowered all the settings on FFXI to low quality and it seemed to resolve the situation. I never had a full on crashing occur, however I did see that problem within the game to know that my graphics card on one of my computers couldn't do high reso with the game. Hope that helps baja

Iirc the current rolling updates are to solve som eof the more obviouis bugs liek crashing close to the Choco Stables, and stuff like that.

In general with missing walls, looks like an error I use to get in other games that would fail to render one side of a polygon, and since one facet was failed, it had no relational coordinates for the ajoining polygons and woud fail entire surfaces. It WAS a Graphics card problem, and if you're already in game Video cards will ignore the error, but if the error persists, when you log in and it draws the zone before you, you might not have a place in that world...

In short, your game dats may have an error, you may have physical interfereance or logical interferance on your video card. (I.E. check for insects/cat hair).

When you reinstall your graphics driver, are you deleting the old ones? Or just installing over them?

I had this problem. I uninstalled FFXI and completely reinstalled/patched it back up and everything has worked perfectly since then. I had the problem Beaudeux, and at some point I couldn't even log in. It'd crash the momeny POL switched to FFXI. So, for what it's worth the complete re-install method works -.-;; sorry man

Looks like I'm going to be reinstalling tomorrow, hopefully I can get my character moved so I can play tonight.

I rolled back to the 169.17 drivers(the magic FFXI fixing ones) and the problem is still there, looks like it's time to reinstall.

Thats lame, but hopefully it should solve the problem.
