Still wanna Bungee jump after this?

Man you people really like to blow shit out of proportion, but I am King of that so, ok.....

I don't understand how anything is being blown out of proportion. If it's not a proper time to make a fuss about a young girl's life ending, getting filmed, and then given to a site that thrives on it's members enjoyment of other's deaths....then I don't know when it would ever be a good time to make a fuss about something in your eyes.

Darkdante said:
No it did not, if you call 2 fuzzy white specs on the screen that was running around on the ground a dead girl, Frankly I dunno how you get that.

I watched it only once, and could have swore that I saw it. Perhaps I was wrong.

Darkdante said:
Did I get it from that site? No. Have I ever been to that site? No. I got it from an email from a friend who knows I've done bungee jumping before. I bet when you get those xxx emails with links you just have to go to those sites too right?

Umm, the website was posted right there in the right-hand corner of the videom, so it doesn't matter whether or not you got it from the site, it was still being promoted. When I get those xxx emails I do not open them up, however someone who WOULD open them up, would probably be inclined to visit the site.

Thats the difference between you and I (now anyway), the difference is that I can see something and make a choice if I want to see more or not. You on the other hand are compelled to do what you see, what you think is cool, instead of doing what your brains tells you to and NOT DO IT. People just like that is the reason why I posted it.

Hey I still do it, guilty as well.

You are speaking for me, which you cannot do. I am not compelled to do everything I see, or everything I may think is cool no matter how dangerous. I don't understand where you got that. And as for the lemming comment, you are quite the lemming for being a pawn in promoting that website, although you may think you didn't.

Also, the girl in my avatar was not injured more than a red-mark on her face, it's a clip from a segment on the "E" channel, you can even see the small symbol in the bottom right corner. I, in no way, have a guilty concience for this.

I know that for some state's drunk driving penalties they take them to the morgue to show them dead bodies which are there froma direct result of drunk driving. However, there IS a difference in showing a dead body, as opposed to showing the action of death, which is why these courses do not show such footage. And even though this video didn't show impact, it basically has filmed the ending of this poor girl's life. Which is the same thing as why american channels woudl not replay footage of people jumping out of the world trade center on 911, even though it didn't show impact.

I wonder how this girl's family/boyfriend/friends feel about this video being passed around on the internet. Knowing that their daughter's/girlfriend's/friend's death is constantly being replayed and maybe even being enjoyed by others instead of being used as a deterent to bungee jumping as someone as naive as yourself might think it to be.

The video speaks for itself, no statistics needed. Again the video didn't show any violence, gore, whatever, it left it up to your sick imagination to think what happened.

Exactly, and with the website's address perfectly in the corner of the screen, children viewing this website are easily able to substitute an already sick imagination, with actual footage of others. There is a definite reason why these videos are not sellable/rentable to children under 18, and there's a reason why others (such as me) wanted the video removed when this forum's age requirement is only 13.

So you're you going to note stupidity through someone's death? That ain't right.

there's a book written about it actually and there's also a website...called the darwin awards. It tells the tales of people who got themselves killed/castrated in very stupid ways.

The Darwin Awards salute the improvement of
the human genome by honoring those who accidentally
kill themselves in really stupid ways.

I love the Darwin Awards. But then I'm unapologetically cynical and largely misanthropic.

Totally agree with this one, sometimes it takes 1st hand view in order to refraim from doing w.e you doing.

Nothing wrong with expressing distaste for death, it makes thinkers think. You can have started watching porn at 10, seen funny movies like animal house and such at 7, and countless gore movies, doesn't mean that person has to be a zombie

I'm talking about the crybabies that asked for the stuff to be taken off for being distatseful in YOUR eyes...because yes, everyone is like you and the world/forum should revolve around you.

Is this directed at me? Because if it is I never asked for it to be taken off, I just commented on the sad facts. Sorry but I can't tell if this meant for me. The big "YOUR" is leading me to think it is.

Personally i'm a timid guy i don't go out in thunderstorms, i don't jump off bridges, and i stay away from taco bell.

lmao

I actually killed a link on one of the forums I moderate of a dog getting hit in the head by some idiot with a book. I found it offensive, and so did a lot of others.

Of course you always have those few that complain about censorship, and try to argue the validity of editing posts. I think that they need to either find a forum that caters to their type, or refrain from complaining about those forums that do not.

At the very least a warning should be placed with any link that could be found offensive. Yes, that might mean having a lot of warnings, but better than, then to scar for life..lol.

Bungee jumping is fine, so long as done by, or under the supervision of professionals. Yes, you could still die doing it, but the odds are in you favor if you do.
