Stone V & Water V Feedback

Fellow BLMS, let's hear some info. I still need two merits before I can do any testing. ; ;
Hopefully I can get in some EXP before Dynamis tonight!

so far no sign of them dropping from anywhere and they are not even listed on the AH if they do

Kinda have to agree with this. Stone and Water are two nukes that I hardly use and getting the tier V's is not a high priority for me right now. Once we get Blizzard and Thunder V, then I'll worry about it.

I like completion so I bought them both.

The spells nuke right on par if not higher than Quake and Flood II. Nice to have all the elements at your disposal just in case

these have now been added to the AH and there are reports of them coming from chests dropped by mobs in Abyssea
oh and LOL @ all the people paying 200k+ on the AH the NPC price is 120-130k a fool and his gil are easily parted

Stone V only seems to break 1k when I MB it.
Water V hits for over1k 80% of the time, and can Magic Burst up to 1800+ damage.

Hopefully Aero V will be a nice spell. I look forward to trying it against Kirin.

What sort of damage do you get from T4's? Namely Blizz4/Thunder4.

I'm no BLM, but as a SCH I'm addicted to ice-element spells, due to the rather large INT and elemental skill bonuses I get from HQ elemental staff and the +7 INT Hailstorm.

I've just recently attained 80, and haven't yet obtained Stone V, so I haven't had an opportunity to try it myself. If it isn't particularly amazing, I may just wait until the prices drop a bit or I manage to pick it up from a chest.

First of all, I would wait to purchase any spells until the AH price drops or you can obtain them yourself. Maybe with the one exception of Thunder V when it comes out.

Same mobs as I was casting on with the tier V spells>>
Blizzard was hitting over 1000 most of the time, with a couple exceptions. I was able to (accidently) magic burst it twice for 1600+ once and almost 1900 the 2nd time.
Thunder IV wasn't doing so well, but that may be because we where fighting Lizards. Anywhere between 800-1200 most of the time, with an occasional 1300.
The only time my Thunder IVgoes closer to 2k is on mobs weak to thunder. (like puddings.)

Dynamis gave me more chances to test it. We where in Windurst and I was able to take the Statues out in 3 spells (1 Tier V, 2 Tier IV.)

I'll post my current nuking gear set-up later.

They need to change how drops work in abyssia maybe make it random instead of someone nabbing them in a chest and taking off soon after to sell it to the highest bidder on AH, yes many groups will random items amongst the group but I'd rather just have the entire randomess of loot taken out of the hands of some players.

I don't disagree with that at all. It's sometimes difficult to keep people from just taking what they want.
I've started in my abyssea pts to make sure everyone knows that before the run, all tiems will be /random'd for. Rare/Ex immediatly, and the rest I take and auction off during the run.

Anyway, back to the subject:
I advise any BLM or SCH just to wait for prices to go down or get lucky in Abyssea.

Actually considering the npc sells the scroll for more than the AH prices have dropped to now maybe that route isnt so bad anymore. Or you can benifit from someones kindness as someone I knew got a Water V recently from a lotter winner that felt an actual contributing blm there deserved. Happy times. ^^
