So are you saying it's ok to gain items with RMT? How was that RMT'd
Mattimer account in limbus last night with your linkshell?

Our limbus shell is run with scattered people and not just one linkshell fyi. If you are going to blame anyone why dont you blame the "real" mattimer for selling his account instead of just quitting (or if you care so much you should have just took over his acccount?). You make it sound like we are running limbus with some huge gilsellers. There is a big difference from buying an account TO PLAY and buying an account and using it to make a profit (to me anyways).

Not that I'm really committing to either side here, as I can see the merits on both of the overarching points of view, but I would like to point out one problem I see with trying to make the comparison between buying an Autumn Stone from a bazaar and buying eleventy billion oils, powders, sushi, etc. from the AH.

The basic problem is that no matter how hard RMT could ever try, they could never reach the level of monopolization on consumables that they can reach on an NM. There will always be materials and there will always be non-RMT crafters. Anyone can level multiple crafts to the point where they can produce the vast majority of the consumables they use.

In short, no one can craft an Autumn Stone.

As that is the case, I really think that stone buyers are better off sticking behind the argument of it simply being more time/gil-effective for them to buy than to camp, while making assurances that they are being conscientious in from whom they choose to buy.

And that's my whole argument. Since people resell used kotes, there's more people that sell them besides RMT, thus lowering the % that you'll but from RMT.

You can't only count the ammount of drops sold. Those are only new kotes entering the economy. You have to count the 2nd, 3rd etc. hand sales.

Theres also a very good chance that those resold Kote were originally farmed up by RMT. While not being sold by RMT at the time, they exist strictly because of RMT getting them in the first place.

The point is Mattimer was purchased. He used Real Money and Traded it for an acount. Acount or gil does not matter it is still RMT.

I see what you did dere.

First time I heard that Mattimer's account was actually sold and not given to someone, maybe that confusion is still out there. Hey this seems to be a crazy parallel to another interesting situation at hand! I plead the ignorance!

Trelution: Same here, I'm like people whatever, but that animal didn't do shit to you! ; .;

Yes, I've already mentioned that. But that's a moot point, since 2nd hand selling doesn't give the RMT any profit at all. Thus, using that as an argument is useless.

As for Neo, if you ask anyone that knows me well, they'll tell you my computer crashed on me back in January. That doesn't mean the evidence is made up, though.

It was sold again, IIRC.

The current owner of Mattimer plays the game on several servers, and have been a long-time member of the Quetzalcoatl community.

No, I'm not saying its not RMT. I'm saying its not a gilseller.

I'd just like to add one more thing to this thread.
PlayOnline Viewer : Navigator : Friend Search : Profile Search (FFXI) Tab.
Think about it for a bit.

Ouch. God damn, you're right. I wouldn't have expected something so godawful stupid to work like that. Good going, SE.

Honestly I would give up my privacy in order for them to track RMT.

I'm surprised it works like that, frankly there's no legitimate reason to ever be able to hide the names of your characters, especially in a game like this. Not being visible as "online" is one thing, but to fully implement it into hiding your entire account is another.

point is you bought an RMT sold item, if you knew that you bought the sole sushi off rmt, what would you do? kill yourself? curse yourself? call yourself a good for nothing rmt supporter? wait, i'll answer for you, "i'll just go on about life and who gives a fuck?"

in the same sense it's still purchasing off an RMT. so now you're telling me if ulli stone was AHable, you would be able to buy it guilt free? it's been stated before and also ignored. Oh but not knowing it's from NON-RMT or RMT and taking a chance would be ok, right? Yes, and we know sushi is in high demand and are being bought by the hundreds daily, well if you've read kaizens post, they've bought about 10 out of 700+ a year from what looks like just about anyone. Lets see here, the high demand and low supply of autumnstone surely add up to the 10 accounted for. 10 out of 700 a year, I'm sure those could belong to NA players. They already said 3 or so were from a trusted jp players. Could the same be said for kaizen? taking the chance of buying only 7 out of 700 stones? hoping that those 7 are from non rmt and if not, well who would monitor? I mean 7 out of 700 is not hard to believe that they are being sold by NA or JP players around the server. I'm pretty sure more than 7+ were sold by random legit players, leaving out the 3 accounted for.

wow your logic and argument fails, simply coming in and saying, by buying autumnstones is bad yet anything from AH is ok because we took a chance and non-rmt sell them too, well it's been proven that non-rmt can sell ullistones as well. Knowing RMT own the kotes circulation and majority of the sales coming from RMT, or ones sold by other palyers who bought from the AH from RMT before that, would you never buy kotes? knowing the chance of it being an RMT owned kotes.....

thought so

hey i've bought kotes from large for 70k before, his mistake my gain but i still bought from an RMT. Oh and flypanda once listed a serket ring in his bazaar for 200k that i bought up as soon as i saw it pop into my screen. I've no regret for buying those items from them. If you saw those items for that price on an rmt bazaar, wouldnt you have bought it? Yeah well i'm not saying it's ok to walk up and buy an ulli stone off an RMT, but if i could get a good deal on a stone, from anyone i see and taking the chance that it's not an RMT, and make more killing byakko i probably would buy a stone.

i'm not trying to attack you but i'm trying to get the point across, why attack me with such violence and insult? Come back with a intellectual comment please.

No, your argument is idiotic, hence the irritated reply. I'm done with this thread. It's been done a long time. You and people like you can go ahead and keep spewing your twisted logic. Buying from AH and buying an object 99% likely to be RMT provided are two things not even in the same universe. The fact that you can even equate the two shows how out of control the thread has gotten. So... have fun going in circles, I'll spare myself from having to read anymore of the same crap.

Especially since you don't need to enter anything in to the profile if you're that concerned over your "Privacy." If you even believe entering generic information like your gender, your hobbies, and the state you live in, all that dire of a need for protection.

Not only invisible status, but the fact that you can create different handles to hide the mules. Essentially making them seem operated on a seperate account.

I really wouldn't say it's enitrely moot. They're resold because of RMT in the first place. Regardless if they get profit off it or not, the very existance of the item could be from shady practices. Wether originally obtained through cheating, or a decent probability of giving a gilbuyer his gil back.

You have to ask yourself about people who seperate their mules from their main characters' accounts and use privacy features to hide their identity as to if they're the likely the legit players.

It's entirely moot as it in no way benefits the gilseller and keeping it in circulation actually lowers the value of the gilseller's source of income. Not saying that the items attained by gilsellers are "tainted" and anyone who uses them is then immoral, merely the act of buying from the gilseller is supporting them.

Well, that's what I was thinking as well (seperation of mules), but, in my opinion, having invisible mode on as a bazaar mule is pretty legitimate, to keep friends from trying in vain to send tells and whatnot, thinking you're online/can get it.
The side effect of this is that their identity apparently becomes hidden as well, which strikes me as practically a blunder on SE's part.
