Seriously, let it be. People are going to buy from RMT whether you say it is bad or not. Really, it's not the end of the world. People have done worse. I would rather hear a rant about how this person is rude or something worth discussing rather than ethics in a video game.

Experience and skill > rmt botters anyday of the week. I play on PS2 and used to have battles with Odhinn over who was gonna claim 1st me or him(different shells) all in fun. Chi blast vs. provoke. IMO, this is FFXI's biggest flaw. Haidate, which is basically the best piece in the game for it's slot, comes off such a weak mob (Byakko). If Haidate came off something like Jorm or Vrtra, we'd see a lot of less people running around in them. But as FFXI is, we're stuck with hard fights that give shit rewards and easy fights that give the best items in the game.

Everyone wants Haidate, because they are so good. Buying Stones = You can get more Haidate, in less time = people in your shell have what they want. I like having everyone in my shell happy, so if I could produce more Haidate I would. If I could magically buy Ridill for 50M per NPC and could afford Ridills, and I led a shell, I'd definitely buy some Ridills for my guys. As far as I'm concerned, that's the same as buying from gil sellers. My guys still end up with the gear they want. If it comes down to it, I'd buy from non-gilsellers over the sellers, but if I can't do that, then I'd buy from sellers. Either way, we end up with Ridills
 
So buy stones, then you can use your good botters at Kings?

I finally figured out how to get the gear I want! Thanks, AJS, I appreciate the tips.

My question "Does Rise have an inferiority complex?" Was directed at a post saying that this thread would be different if Rise was called out. I am not confused about anything and meant Rise no disrespect. I am not up on who is in what shell.
 
Some interesting moral questions are brought up though, like do the methods that the specific RMT that the items bought of matter as far as when you buy the pops off them? Like if the RMT uses Mrargus and you buy pops from them is it not being accepting of MrArgus? Is it inherantly different than accepting a LS member who does the same thing?

Cause the question to me isn't RMT = bad as much as what RMT use to get claims = bad.

It isn't that big of a secret they buy their pop items, they've been buying them quite some time.

PS: I don't think it's in debate that it's an intelligent move timewise to use gil from more profitable ventures to buy pop items to use. Don't think you can really use the utilitarian argument here as just about any rule breaking is done to be more time efficient. Better to focus on acceptable and unacceptable behavior as defined by the parties implicated in their own declarations of how others should act morally.
