I drank couple nights ago.. I got the buzz I wanted. Didn't get sick. Smoked only 2 cigs. I watched how fast I drank and how much.

You probably had what's called a Mallory-Weiss tear, it happens when you're puking so hard that you actually rupture the lining of your esophagus and start bleeding into your stomach.
I had one of these, caused by too much drinking. I was 21, didn't know my limits, and had a drunken 6'2" ex-marine trying to get me to match him drink-for-drink. Needless to say I ended up in the hospital. They had to pump my stomach because the tear was bleeding so fast that even after I sobered up the blood in my stomach was making me puke.
I didn't stop drinking altogether, but I'm more careful not to exceed my limits. Once I get a good buzz going I'll have one more drink, then I stop for the night. I actually enjoy drinking a lot more now because I still get the warm and fuzzies but actually remain conscious of the night.
