Is this true?
I herd most stores got a shipment and they are holding out until the 16th

According to my economics teacher Nintendo's pulling out Wii advertising in some regions because they can't meet the demand.
Didn't hear about this though.

I know that Gamestop is going to start offering rain checks on the Wii because they can't meet the demand.

Targets and KBToys I know are holding them for the 16th, and I believe they are openning at 5AM.

The Fry's I work at isn't holding them. We got around 40 in tuesday afternoon and they were gone before we closed. We don't have any left to hold.

Target is. We hold them usually until they are in the ad so when they are people don't come in sunday morning and go "DEY IS IN DA AD WERE DA FUCKS ARE DEY".

The targets around here are holding them. Holding all 117 of them that they are getting.

Funny story:

Today someone came in sporting a Game Crazy ad, and they asked if we had any Wiis in stock. When i said no, they said that they were going to sue the company for false advertising.

GameStop & EB do not hold systems. Unfortunately, most stores only get a few systems per shipment. The store I work at gets one box, which is three systems.

Gamestop/EB are offering "rainchecks" beginning 12/21 for shipment by mid January. This raincheck is really just a reserve for a system that you will pick up in the store, but you have to pay for it in full. All stores have a predetermined quantity available but they do NOT have them in stock.

Gotta love how demand for nintendo systems shot up for the Wii after the gloomy sales of the N64 and the downright abysmal performance of the GCN. Good for them for getting something right in the console area.

So glad I got mine for my birthday back in summer, no way I would be getting one now... I went into Game Crazy earlier this week to sign up for a GH3 tournament, and there were (no joke) EIGHT calls asking for Wiis over the 20 minutes I was there. And I don't exactly live in a big city (65,000 people). This is madness...

Yeah, I bought one for a friend on tuesday(he'd been trying to find one for 4 months) when we got a shitload of them in, and I had no less than 10 people ask me where I got it and if they had any left on my way to the cashiers and to my car.

my wife went to best buy and they said if its in the sunday ads, then they will have some but you need too get there at like 6am. i checked the ad at about 5am. said they had 21 minimum per store so i drove over, there was over a 100 people in line at like 5:30 already lol. i finally found one that someone was selling locally.

If these stores are other retailers (i.e Best Buy and Circuit City) they might be holding them for an sales ad listing cause those items are guaranteed in stock.
