I have no idea where to post this, so I figured this would be the best place for it. If it belongs more to Traveler's Tavern or whatever, feel free to move it there.

Since I occasionally get bored while lfg, and have absolutely nothing to do, I sometimes put on some music and write something. Most of them are not FFXI related, but then I got an idea. What if we would do a forum-wide story telling game?

I'm sure all of you have done it sometime. You sit around a bonfire, and someone start a story. Most of the time, its a ghost story. Every now and then, the person stops telling it, and let the person sitting next to them continue it. So basically, I thought we could do something similar on QCDN.

Sadly, I don't think a lot of people are very interested in writing, which I find kind of sad... but w/e. Hopefully a bunch of people will be interested in this game and get an interresting story going.

Rules:

The rules are simple, you continue from where the person above you ended. If you want to comment on something someone above you wrote, make it obvious so it won't be confused as part of the story.

Additionally, you may not turn this in to a porn story. As fun as it may be to write porn stories, this is not the goal of it. You may involve kissing and whatever, but don't make it more intimite then that. Also, don't only add one word in-between. Write a part of it. Also, please make it Final Fantasy XI related. You can, offcourse, involve things not directly involved to the story line, and NPC's, but keep it to the Final Fantasy world.

Additionally, please do not use real character names, and don't use names like "Sephirothxx" or "Devilstar".

Also, when you continue someone elses story, quote it. The goal of the game is to have a long story following a storyline that the people of QCDN will make.

To start the game off, I've written an introduction that you can work from. It might be hard to think of something to write at first, but I'm sure we'll all do just fine.

Slowly, he looked down at the body lying in front of him. His hands, shaking, dropped the blood-stained sword on the floor. Everything were quiet, the only sound he could hear were that of his own beating heart, and his own slow breaths. In front of him were the body of a woman. Her yellow hair glistened as the light from the fireplace reached her. She were by no means a bad looking woman, her yellow hair made her beautiful face seem more apparent. Still in shock by the recent events, he slowly walked towards the fireplace. Verian, a mere Hume, had just murdered someone. Or had he? No, he couldn’t have. He was not himself while it happened. He felt controlled. Like someone were in his head, asking… No, forcing him to do it. The fire seemed calm, unaware of the events which had just taken place. As he stared in to the fire, with the voices still echoing in his head, he slowly turned around and picked up his sword. Would death be his saviour? With sword raised, and tears running down his cheek, he had finally found a solution to his problem. Resolute, he ran the sword through his heart. As he took his last breath, he looked at the woman in front of him, and with all of his last strengths, silently whispered the words “I’m sorry…”. As the blood of the two mixed, their futures forever gone, the fire made a last attempt to stay alive until finally running out.

The Moogle Secret Service long tried to figure out what exactly happened that dreadful night. But without bodies, or any kind of clues, it seemed like a lost cause. They had given up the case, until one day…

With a gasp of air, Naiobe woke up. Her bed drenched in sweat, and her forehead burning. What is this pain she’s feeling? Her moogle were sleeping in the other end of the room. Naiobe were still too light headed and dizzy to stand up, so she sat up in bed with her feet touching the floor below her. She yawned once while stretching her arms back, and then leaned forward putting her face in her hands. Out of nowhere, she heard a low-piched hissing whisper. Naiobe felt a cold chill running down her spine. She sat straight up in her bed, her eyes gazing out over her room, eyes moving rapidly from side to side trying to find what the whisper came from. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, and the only noise she could hear were the fire’s beastly sparkles. It almost seemed like the fire were alive, playing with the flames. Even though fire scared her, the sounds of the sparkling flames were undeniably soothing. A cold wind went through the room, and the hissing whispers were once again heard, although this time much clearer. The words were that of an, to her, unknown language. A lay, a chant, or a soothing lullaby. Her eyes felt heavy, and before she finally fell asleep, she saw the transparent shape of a man standing besides her bed.
