Confirming the tests PUPs have done on this - it's just under a 5% damage reduction in pet damage taken.
By the age-old secret technique of picking on cactuars (do they exist for anything other than testing damage taken) I took Lusien (76BST so doesn't have the job trait) and Ces (78 BST so has Stout Servant active) out to West Altep, pulled cactuars, dropped them to 20% HP and heel/stayed both Carries to be the only thing in AOE. Spammed them with TP from spells.
Lusien's Carrie took 500 damage (half 1k needles - to be expected)
Cesaria's Carrie took 476 damage - husband worked it out as just under 5% reduction (something like 4.8 which backs up what the PUPs were finding out and reporting over on their forums I believe)
Verified a few times before I got bored and ran outta Carries. Might be useful to note since I hadn't seen much actual testing from BSTs on it.
