Strange apparatuses (apparati? O.o)

So i've googled and googled and googled, checked mystery tour and somepage, suffered through allakhazam and i've still yet to find an ipso facto explination about these things. I know what they do on occasion and all but i'm interested in these things:

What's up with the passwords?
How can i obtain nifty stuff with relative security when spending 21k+ on runs to them?
Is there anything they give besides cermet, adaman nuggets, and rune eq?

Anyway .. all's i've found is year old pages that tell me stuff i already know, was gonna check with you folk and see if anyone stumbled on a page or something with a comprehensive guide to what they're all about.
 
How much we can tell you that you don't know depends on what you already do know. And I know I don't know how much you know. :lol:

Heh, anyway... I think they're just for obtaining rune equips and other items by trading chips to them (but you said you already were aware of that). They could be used for something else in the future, maybe?
 
lol, let's hope so, the only stuff i could find is the same info from a year ago. I was hoping someone had cracked the mystery of the password at least by now.. Anyhow, friend of mine and i made some cash on these a while back and out of nowhere i took to the idea of lookin up if anymore info had been found, no dice apperantly :?
 
Same here, I know just about as much as you... I trade to the 1 in Ordelles all the time, once to Gusgen and a few in Shakrami (sp) Maze.
For some reason I mostly get cerment chunks whick is ok cause I can synth them into porcelain vases which make me a pretty good profit. I did get an Arcane flowerpot which sold for 100k. (don't know what they're at now) and i think I got some adaman nugs 1 time which I think I lost a bit of gil on that one...
Anywhoo... I have looked for the pasword deal too, no luck. If anyone does know, I'm definitly curious.
 
if you check mystery tour a lil harder you will find the answer. its there. im 100% positive cuz im looking right at it
 
Haven't done this in a long time..
Something along the line of..
"Every dungeon has an element unique to it as opposed to the other dungeons with apparati. Go there on the matching day as the dungeon and trade an infinity core along with the chip signifying that dungeon's element's weakness (i.e. Crawler's Nest = unique weather opposed to the other Apparati zones is water, water is weak to lightning, so a lightning chip on watersday)"

Or was is trade a matching chip on the unique weather's weakness-day (i.e. water chip in CN on lightningday)? Bleh...

I remember getting a REALLY high Dark Elemental to spawn in Shakhrami due to messing up, that wasn't fun..
 
I think we all know about the same amount as we have all looked at what the normal info sites have to say.

As for the password... well.. doesn't seem like anyone knows...or that anyone that does know is saying anything about it.... I once read somewhere that if the password is entered correctly that the change is that you get to keep your infinity core. Thats it... if that is the case.. that saves you several thousand gil for each attempt... but.. not a huge change...

At any rate I have done this many times in Crawlers nest.. had ok results.. I have a post on Alla with all my results.. etc... had a couple good drops from it...
