Today i was reading an article about monetary policy and Andrew Jackson when i realized something that i find to be very ironic and i was wondering if anyone else had ever noticed it.
Andrew Jackson campaigned on the premise that he was going to end the national bank of the time (Second Bank of the United States) which he did. He also stated that the united states should never have a national bank of any capacity.
Now for the irony... he is on the 20 dollar bill (the most widely used bill in the US) which is printed by the federal reserve... a national bank.
