Aromatherapy usually helps me a lot. Scent is tied pretty strongly to memory, so think of something that has soothed you in the past, or a particular scent that brings something positive to mind, and go find it. Yankee Candle has tons of different scents, or if you aren't into candles, there's a ton of those plug in air jobbies or scent stick things nowadays in all sorts of varieties.

Kickboxing workout helps relieve stress and any kind of pent up frustration/ aggravation. You sweat your ass off, you expend the energy that's causing your anxiety, and you will sleep better. Great stuff; used to de-stress me during quite a difficult time in my life and I felt great after every workout.

The only other thing I could suggest (depending on how high your stress-level is and how bad you need to vent) is to get one of those soft, spongy water noodle things you can get for like a buck or like a nerf bat. Lock yourself up in your room, crank up some music, and slap the shit out of the wall, your bed, whatever. I've never tried it personally, but I have a good friend who swears by it when she's about ready to break. Her exact words to me were "there's something really satisfying about beating the piss out of something you don't have to worry about hurting."

Grounding and centering helps quite a bit, also combined with meditation.

This is just something that helps me, but I can give you a little bit of basic instruction if you like. I deal with anxiety and stress constantly as my living situation is quite volitile 9 yay parents). Put yourself in a place that you're comfortable, like an area outside that is something of a refuge, or put on some instrumental music that is calming. Get into a position that is most comfortable to you (preferably not anything curled up as you want your energy to flow unhindered) and think of your personal energy. Feel it flowing inside of yourself like a beautiful white sheet inside of a box (your body). Imagine the box becoming passable and the sheet spreading wide and fluttering gently in the wind. Gently pull your energy back in and let the visualization follow, the sheet flowing gently back into the box. Repeat that a few times until you can really feel at peace, couple that with deep breathing through the mouth until your lungs are full and then exhaling through the nose until all the air has left your body.

Another method would be standing outside in the breeze and imagining your energy flowing from your feet and connecting into the Earth as tree roots would, then just swaying in the wind.

Yeah, this all sounds very tree-hugger but its pulled me out of quite a few panic attacks. I hope you can find the best route to find peace within yourself, if you need anyone to talk to, sometimes its best to speak to someone that isn't so connected to you or the situation. Many blessings towards you and positive energy.

Play the drums.

It's a pretty decent upper body work out to boot, even the Rock Band set.

You won't become Joe 48" Biceps, but you'll get a good sweat going.

indulge in some comfort food, do something you really enjoy and just realize that the shit your stressed out about will only make you feel worse if you let it

roll with the chaos and you will feel better

I personally throw in a good Hack'n Slash type of game and kill things for a while. Or I read a book or something like that to just... take a break from everything. The only problem with doing that, though is that sometimes you can get a little too caught up in the activity you're relieving stress with... so it works well provided one doesn't let everything slip by completely.

Yeah Grand Theft Auto 3 or Vice City usually does the trick for me when i'm really aggravated.

you have to becareful with that, going on binges with depression makes a habit and can cause obesity if you aren't careful. Exercise or just activities like painting be better.

What's a good method to relieve stress...?

I've been stressed/depressed/anxious outta my miiiind lately, it's messing with school, home, friends, and sleep. I just want it to gooo awaaaay.

Anti depressants never really seemed to help me. I took those for over 2 years, they never helped.

Please don't say things like "go get laid," or even "DIY", tired of hearing that, and it's not for me, lol...

But I'm up for all other suggestions.

I...just waaannna feeeel haaaaappy.

Exercise!

I know you are going to think that you're too tired, or not in the mood, etc. But it actually has the opposite effect!

Start slow. Just walk a mile a day. That's it, nothing too stressfull, just a nice leisurely walk around the neighborhood. I usually pop on my mp3 player and go.

After you get used to that, start alternating in a slightly more intensive workout - maybe weightlifting or aerobics (I prefer lifting). Then, maybe after a while slowly start turning those walks into jogs. I'm telling you, it's not simply the exercise that helps, it's the chemicals that your body releases during exercises. Not only will you FEEL better, you will also SLEEP much better at night too, which only increases the effect, like compound interest! You should seriously start seeing results inside of a week or less.

A good multivitamin helps too. I take Men's One-A-Day. It's kind of a large, nasty, horsepill lookin thing, but it improves energy and mood throughout the day. Don't go cold turkey, but slowly eliminating things like caffeine and nicotine can help too.

I listen to all sorts of music...
As calm as "Goodbye Ruby Tuesday" to as not-so-calm as Maximum the Hormone. Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Sublime, Rob Zombie, KoRn, Cake, System of a Down/Serj Tankian, Nirvana, Toadies, Radiohead, even Nobuo Uematsu.

Next time you can, blare whatever music you like. Sing in to your hairbrush, play air guitar, jump up on the couch and scream "THANK YOU MILWAUKEE!" If you have annoying neighbors or somebody that would complain, do it while driving and play airdrums at red lights. I find this to be an excellent example (headbanging is not optional).

Especially if you or one of your friends has a dog. Call em up and go take the doggie for a walk.
