Yeah, it's certainly not important enough to call all whm who don't use it retards. That's like saying all blm who don't have a morion talthum are retards, or if they don't have those new +1 int earings at 29. +1 hmp is negligable at best, it's only when you get to a real number like +10 that you actually see a difference, so it's really not even worth arguing about. While holy breastplate doesn't do anything to benefit the party, seer's barely offers anymore anyways. Yeah, it'd be nice for all mages to have them both, but not everyone has the money for that, so it's their choice. Regardless, spells are more important for a mage, I'd rather have a whm with erase wearing a holy breastplate than than a whm without it wearing seers, and i'm sure everyone else would too.

And there are tons of taru mages who don't know crap about mp control simply because they have so much of it. It's the galka and elvaan mages who are the masters of mp control, not the ones with the over abundance.
If I was in a party with you, and you booted the whm simply because he didn't wear the kind of armor you wanted, I would leave. It's not a big deal, as long as he can do the job. Tell me, did you boot whm's for not having the best armor before seer's was available? I wore a linen robe until my rse, and then rse until holy breastplate. No one ever said a word, no one cared, because I kept up with my spells, and that was all that mattered. I don't see how this has changed now.
