Kat said:I've half-ass been reading this topic for a while now. Here's my opinion, take it or leave it:
IF they had had Seers +1 when I was leveling my whm, I would NEVER have bought that ugly Holy Breastplate and wasted the money on it. But, because they didn't have Seers Set at that time, I bought it and I wore it. I couldn't WAIT to get that thing off. To me, personally, if made no sense whatsoever, me bein' a whm and having reraise, to have to wear it. Also, I had my melee's to protect me.
And, bottom line, the damn thing is butt ugly!!!! I can see you whm's mebbe wearing it to farm solo, but other than that, Seers +1 just rocks!!!! And, it looks good also. I mean seriously, it's really sharp lookin'.
Again, this is just my opinion. Y'all do what you want (which I'm sure you will even without my permission to do so  )
I also hadto deal with Holy Breastplate wearing...by the time Seer's was out I was 55-ish, by the time it dropped from it's start-out price (can you believe it used to be 50k..for the not +1?), I was already using Briault, so, bleh. =P
And about this "any good mage would be caught in an AOE", as already said, some camps are too small NOT to be caught in the AOE...additionally, some monsters just have rediculously large, or "not party restricted" AOEs. This is mainly referring to Pteradons or whatever they're called in Valley of Sorrows.
