Ok so my wife's lap top is pissing me off i cant fix it for some odd reason, she states she didnt do anything to it but i think she did with out her realizing she did.

basicly when ever she puts her password in for Vista it goes strait to a black screen regardless of safe mode. NOW i think it may be a virus but thats just me. :| its kind of driving me nuts i have no idea what it could be i got it to boot up to the desk top ONCE by changing the 'visiualization technology' to enabled and it popped up but some other things im finding are that it could be in result to the power supply..... basicly i got it to the desk top plugged in the power supply and couldnt do shit on it, the comptuer basicly froze up... and now it wont boot up to the desk top again.... Help please :|

Before anyone says "lolVista" I've never had a problem with it *knocks on wood*

I had something similar happen to me with Windows on my last laptop, after the screen fragmented a few times, it went to the dos screen on every startup and no matter what, I couldn't get past it. What I thought was a vid card problem (because of the fragmenting) ended up being a MB problem and it was cheaper to get a new laptop.

OK so i got it to boot up to the desk top but i cant get it to connect to the network, it freezes up on alot of shit...

The windows are blank and when i go to open task manager task manager does not pull up it just hangs,, i already ran a memory and hard drive test and it said they were fine

If i reboot the machine its going to just do the black screen of doom all over again

Anywhere cheap you can take it in if it's no longer under warranty? How old is your house? Is it plugged into a brownout surge protector? Sometimes older houses/buildings have power surges that people don't even notice that (over time) effect your computer. How old is the laptop?

its a refurbbed Laptop shes had it for 8 months, and actualy that would make alot of sense because my computer went through a 800w power supply two weeks ago that i had for less than a year... the inside of it was melted...
