Stupid Lag?

Some times when in Lag Urghan, while talking to the sanction NPC, coin NPC, and the warp taru I lag for anywhere from 2mins-20 mins waiting for npc chat to load up, sometimes the game freezes, once in awhile the screen goes black. It happened to me the other day in Upper Jueno when I walked out of the weapons shop doing some GP, I opened menus to sort items and it froze and went black. Is this just lag or is there another problem? I play on ps2 btw. Just wondering if anyone else had/has this problem or know anything about it. Thanks.
 
Same, I just lost my Silver Peice to warp taru when my PS2 locked up. SE Phails

You didn't lose it. When you talk to him again he'll give you the option to warp. Helius Phails.

As for using him. Why? Keep your homepoint in a city. Stay out of that shit hole unless you have to. Need to go to Jeuno? Outpost warp to Aragoneu and hike it for a minute. Minute amount of gil < silver piece.
 
Talk to warp taru when you log back in and he should warp you no problem, I figured that out on my first of 103(exaggeration) times doing this.

OT: Did this ever happen when Jeuno was the only big city? I didn't really stay in Jeuno much when I could. I did get lag, but didn't stay long enough to see if it was as bad as it is in Whitegate right now.
 
No, Jueno just lagged a little(kinda like in DA w/Faf) but never froze or blacked out. And didnt happen till they moved the sanction npc in that update.

Unless you're like me with 50k+ IS with nothing else to really spend it on atm anymore, so it's usually quicker to just warp to aht urghan then to jeuno that way, then again, it's probably all the same distance.

My friend also has this problem too, the great lag at these few NPCs, and she plays ps2 too, it seems to be just a problem with the ps2... I think I'm glad now my HDD on my ps2 stopped working and I upgraded to 360 >.> I don't get that kind of lag.

The rest of Jeuno was okay, it was normally Lower Jeuno that was the lag fest before ToAU.
 
Just talked to a GM about it, PS2 can't take so much info, it just freezes up. So i think in the end, I'll be on my PC 100% until they fix it.
 
Maybe I should switch to 360 then and put my ps2 to rest. Thanks for the info/help.
