Ok, this started on Friday night while playing in the Citadel, we were waiting on this ranger who was to join our party there. After almost 30 minutes of waiting we searched for him to find him looking for a group in the Crawlers Nest! We waited for him and the bastard didn't have the decency to say he was not coming after all.

Saturday night I am now playing in the Crawlers Nest and we get a ranger to our party, and look who it is, the same guy we waited on the night before, so keeping my mouth shut, we played.

Our party had 2 rdms and one blm, no whm. So when the other rdm was dead, we still fought while waiting for raise to come. After one fight, I had less then half my mp left (rdm acting as whm) and the other 4 people were half of their HP, the ranger goes and pulls again! Needless to say the poor blm died because we weren't given the chance to recover. So us being upset about the stupid pull, the jackass ranger just leaves the party, no word, nothing.

Sosa is the ranger and he is added to my ever growing list of stupid ass people not to play with!!

sorry long rant, just mad.

O.o..

I know Sosa, he is infact a very good player and a member of the same linkshell as I am. Yes, he's a mithra, but he used to be an Male Elvaan high level Samuria, and for some reason I forgot his old name.

Im pretty sure he could have very well seen your party as a noob party, and when things start going bad, he very well has every right to leave your party. Sure, its kinda rude of him to just leave. But think of it this way. He's already been through this crap of having to lvl all the way up and if he's already at CN with ranger I'm quite surprised, because that means he already has sam fairly high leveled and he just restarted that character like a month and a half ago.

Though, would you rather have someone jump all down your throat before they left and were a complete ass, or someone just leave and not say anything. He was probably just trying to avoid a confrontation because im sure he was fairly not happy about the party doing bad.

I'd say more but ive gotta head back to work. later.

No Whm in the nest is what got you killed... Regen helps alot, and did you use food at all? Just a thought, ...

Sorry, but a bad puller who just up and leaves the party right after is the noob in my book. If you think thats a trait of a good player...

If the party sucks, tell me then; What is the point of staying with it?

Granted I can understand why you would be angry after the pull with nobody ready. I'm unaware of the exact circumstanses, ei. what the hell was said if anything, but as far as that particular instance went id have to say he was in the wrong.

Who's to say that perhaps he just expects too much out of people. Not having a whm really hurts your party pre-refresh, simply because a rdm/whm is a gimped healer, granted, I suppose two rdms might equate to something of 1 good whm, assuming both rdms are any good. But.. then you have to rely on that other rdm, if he dies, your pretty screwed with your healing power cut in half.

I never join a party in CN without a whm pre lvl 42 groups. It's just asking for a bad time. But then, I also dont know what the rest of your party setup was. Altogether it could have just been bad. *shrug*

I don't know what might have been going through Sosa's mind. As Dale said, that doesn't sound like the Sosa/Zex I know. Then again, perhaps he was just having a bad day, I know I have one every once in a while, where things just dont seem to go right. Think twice before you rush to blacklist him, he really isnt a bad guy, nor is he a bad player, infact he's quite a nice person. Oh well, just as in the real world, I guess you can't expect everyone to like everyone, that'd just be stupid wouldn't it.

If the party sucks you try and fix it. Usually it takes a suggestion(hey could you cast this spell or lets fix the skillchain) or an idea or some creative thinking almost anything can work out.

At the very least say something and give some notice you plan to leave.

Still, just leaving without a word is bad manners, even if the party was "supposedly" bad. Sounds like a bad pull then a bad choice to leave without saying anything. But you said he didn't show up to your party the night before either? Wonder if another person played him since some here think he is a good player, happens.

Sosa is indeed Zex a high level Elvaan SAM that was a part of my static party for quite some time. He is a great player, and if he mispulled, it's only because he misjudged your ability to play under pressure. In our static we would routinely chain 4/5 and start fights with low or mediocre mp. If there was any mistake on his part, it was over-estimating you. Zex is, regardless of which character he plays, a great player and good guy.

gutress, since you weren't there you would not know the state of the party. Since I had only half MP and everyone else had half HP, I would have exhasuted all MP just to heal everyone at the start of the fight having no MP to cast Dispel when needed or cure during the fight in time since the other rdm was dead. It's never a smart move to pull with a party so low.

As for your comment "he misjudged your ability to play under pressure", where the hell you come off saying that since you know nothing about me?!? I play very well under pressure and do my part to help, I just don't agree with senseless pulls and constant downtime waiting for raises. So you can keep your little comments to yourself unless you have had the chance to play with me.

Moi = Level 8 RNG/ level 4 THF (15)

i realize im gonna have to get used to pullin but i, personallly, have NEVER pulled yet (for a party i mean)

I have left parties because, "this just isnt going anywhere". Sometimes its better to disrupt the party that way and save everyone exp. Sometimes people make a bad pull, I've done it and shit happens when i do i usually try to take the fall. If he just got up and left w/o a word thats somewhat rude espescially if he was the one that made the decision to pull but there is nothing wrong with leaving a crappy party.

Just to jump in here and comment, from what I've heard, personally I think the guy sounds like a dumb noob. So what he's used to some static party setup that can play well under pressure. So what he's gone through all the lower levels again and is "pissed off" because of having to deal with lowbies again. If you want to play another job, it's part of the friggin game. First off, if you decide to XP without all 6 members up and conscious, you have to be sure the PT is at full HP/MP because you can't expect to be chaining with a partial PT. Secondly, anyone who leaves without saying anything, after their own mistake, is just a dumb noob. I don't care if he has 10 lvl 60+ jobs. He's a noob with a lot of spare time then. Lastly, anyone here who posts defending him and trying to pass the blame onto other members of the PT to justify, is IMO, someone with a bad judge of character. Just because he treats you with respect in your own settings, doesn't mean he's a great guy. It just means he WANTS SOMETHING FROM YOU.

Okay.. first off, Sosa is hardly "pissed off". Everyone has had to deal with noobs at somepoint or another. I'm not calling you a noob Mill, but I am defending Sosa. You make him out to be a horrible person/player which I know for a fact he is not. From what it sounds like your trying to put him in the same boat as Xcalade and Tilk and I'm not going to sit here while you spread your crap about how he's bad because you had TWO MINOR 'not so great' experiences with him.

And as far as your mages having half thier mp.. that should be more than enough to take on one mob if you know what your doing. Unless all your mages were elvaan and galkas I don't see the problem. You didn't specify, so I can only assume.

It really doesn't matter if hes a good player, his static is uber, his feelings were hurt, or maybe the party was crappy; in the end he still ditched.

Who said anything about him being pissed off? It was our remaining party members who were pissed at his actions. Bad pull, another death, then just leaves and puts his seek up without even saying goodbye, sorry, or anything.

First, I'm not grouping him with anyone, Second, if you had TWO MINOR 'not so great' experiences with someone, you probably would start to wonder if there is a pattern there...

5 players alive, one dead, all 5 remaining people were at half HP or less, and having only half MP left would require exhausting remaining MP to quickly cure people at the start of the fight (and yes I do use Regen constantly) leaving me with no MP to cure or use Dispel etc... during the fight. Even if I was resting while others fought, some players would be taking too much damage. As it was, we did win the fight, but at the cost of another needless death and more downtime.

My complaint is this, you do not pull when your party is very low, ANY good puller knows another death isn't worth trying to chain "just one more", it's stupid. And then to just disband without as much of saying sorry or good bye, that was just not right and not only me, but the rest of the party felt the same.

Just because you have good times with this player does not mean everyone else will, obviously.

everyone makes a mistake here and there. pulls can go bad. sometimes people tend to get over anxious and pull like crazy without looking at the pt hp and mp. i admit, with my rng, ive done the same thing but luckily we came through and survived. plus the fact, going from one job to another, you have to learn the ropes of the new job and it makes it a bit harder. after 66 lvls with pld, im not used to being a dmg dealer and making the decisions of pulling

Firestreak-

That's what the "pissed off" is in refrence to, mm'kay. You supported his retarded post so you get flamed too. I never said it was right of him to pull, but as it has been stated already, maybe he thought you guys were capable of handling it. Obviously he misjudged, got flamed for it, and quit the party. Whats the point of sticking around to say "I'm sorry, I made a mistake" when everyones already jumping down your throat.

First, I'm not grouping him with anyone, Second, if you had TWO MINOR 'not so great' experiences with someone, you probably would start to wonder if there is a pattern there...

Starting to wonder if there is a pattern and flaming someone outright on a flameboard because your pissed off are two different things. Your first qualm with him was he took forever and then was seeking in a different area. So fucking what, maybe he decided against partying with you and wanted to do crawlers nest. Were you guys in Garilage? If so, i dont blame him. Every new player party I joined in Garilage at 33ish was horrible. So you get naturally weary when someone on a non advanced job (and im guessing since i cant see your sig right now) and a low rank asks you for a party in that place. It generally spells disaster. You guys could have gotten another puller or damage dealer depending on whatever your situation was.

Just because you have good times with this player does not mean everyone else will, obviously.

It's not like ive just met the guy a few times and had good experiences. He's been in the same linkshell as me since I joined it (i think). That's at very least 6 months. I know how he is, and that he's good. He's always been helpful and nice, and quite frankly he has much skill as a player.

There are other factors you neglect to take into account, such as, was he tired? You dont know. Perhaps he just wasn't feeling well. Maybe he had a bad day and wanted to escape it playing some FFXI. There are mental factors here, that dispite how well a player he is, anyone can make mistakes under their infuence. I'm not saying that was the case.. but it might have been.

A point im trying to make is, just because you had some bad experiences with him, doesn't make him a bad player or a bad person. Now if a good number of people have complaints about him, then maybe somethings changed. As it stands right now.. the only person in this thread who's had a bad experience with him is you. That doesn't warrent shit quite frankly.

Have a nice day.

You actually think it's perfectly okay to say "Be right there", and then go to some other place and put your seek up? Even though there's 5 other people just standing around waiting for you?

.....ok...

Sosa/Zex may be a good player MOST of the time, but I think it's safe to say, on these two occasions, his communication skills were severely lacking.
