Ok currently i have all unlocked but blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster.

My friend I finally convinced to put some time aside from warhammer to play FFXI with me.

She plans on playing the Monk class to start. I would like to duo with her and help here speed up the leveling ...

So what job combos would be good duo combos for xp per hour?

I was considering Pala/whm to dnc sub later... or Drk/Dnc...

I was leaning towards the drk so that we can kill faster and at the same time I can get the drain HP to kill our downtime at low levels...then i would just switch up for groups she finds to help the groups.

What do you think? Ranger/Nin could also work out with the dps later..taking out worms in Shakrami and qufim for example when levels are appropriate..

Im kinda stumped and need some ideas... her plan is to level monk till 18 get subjob...level that subjob... and pick a adv job at 30 which is still in the air.

You're really going to want a character that can heal in the duo, and it will speed things up if the healer can do some damage as well. That used to mean having someone subbing WHM, but with DNC in the picture you have a lot more options opened to you.

Bottom line though, you don't want to be crippled by status effects, and you don't want to have to just sit for long periods after each fight.

Monk is a DPS class with nice HP. For a duo, I would recommend Red Mage; its versatility and melee ability at low levels will allow you to jump into the fight and keep you both healed. Plus, RDM has some nice enfeebles at low levels like Dia which will complement your friend's Monk job and Paralyze which will give you a few extra rounds per fight to figure out what you are doing.

If you bring along some fruit and crystals you can craft drinks as you go to mitigate downtime; cookies will help speed up the MP Rest as well.

Either way, good luck and have fun!

K another question

Ok I learned I cant sync till she is 10...so I just follow her on my WHM as she chain kills with no down time.

My next question is.

Can I play her account on her off days to give her a boost out of low level ?

Also because of restrictions on web from this pc... I also would like to know how do I convert her to Sandoria Citizen? Who to talk to at what map location?

I wanted to move her so I can level her fast since I've been Sandorian only since day 1.... I never did like Windurst... only shakrami maze for bone craft parts that is about it.

That's between you 2. Just grab her username and password.

To switch nations:

San d'Oria - North San d'Oria, Beriphaule at (C-9), near the gate to West Ronfaure
Bastok - Metalworks, Mythily at (J-8), inside the President's Office
Windurst - Heaven's Tower, Rakano-Marukano on the 1st flr, also where u see Kupipi for other nation's mission 2-3 "Journey to Windurst"

It will cost money I believe, and you must also tie up any loose ends/missions you have opened. To change to a nation that's currently Rank 1, it's 40k, Rank 2, 12k and Rank 3, 4k. I don't believe it's been changed.

Good to know I can play her account. I didn't want to have issues cause they show a differ IP loged on her account from another state.

Thanks for that info on Sandy ...I will print that now while I have it...

Luckily I was in the game when things were out of hand and made a huge profit... so Money is no issue.

Now keeping that from depleting and maintaining it is another story >.>

Is this person within murder range?

Or would it only be you having access to the account and not the other way around. Because if you both share ... well, it'll go downhill from there, so watch out.

EDIT: About changing nations, I finally tracked down the page:

^ lots more info there, please print that out instead

No no I have my own account. She is on the free trial. I live in 2k miles away.

What my plan was is to just log on her account on off days to level her character some and knock out some annoying time sink tasks that we can avoid. With our rare game days.
