Suicide Machine O.O

Religious debate aside, if you see your dog suffering from illness it cannot recover from and will die slowly from as a result; the humane thing to do as a loving owner and friend is to put it down, yes? If your loved one (be it grandmother, grandfather, whatever) has a completely debilitating disease that will kill them and leaves them in constant pain if they do not take a massive amount of medication that makes them basically a vegetable... the humane thing to do is to keep them alive and tell them to grin and bear it?

I agree, but unfortunately some people just do not know how to let go. There will always be someone there to disagree and call it "inhumane."

Thats true and I agree that some people in that state of mind are NOT of a sound ability to make such a grave decision. However there are a lot of people that can and should be able to dictate, especially if they're of the persuasion of non-life-saving techniques and their children are decidedly for it. At that point you're going against the wishes of your loved one and that isn't right. I'll even go as far as to admit that there are some fucked up children that will just want what they can get with no care at all to the suffering person in bed. This is a huge grey area that will no doubt be debated for years to come.

This is why I set it up so if I ever become like that they're to pull the plug. I couldn't stand to know that while I lay there on the verge of death my family is watching it.

Well reason for this is animals are treated at a lower inferior thing then that of humans. (By most eyes, not all) We should be in the business to save lives not end them. It is easy for the sick to give up hope and it should be the family to help them find that hope they have lost, not here mom take this plunger so we can get you out of are life and send you to a everlasting hell. By this you a condoning suicide, A rapidly growing academics that is spiraling out of control already, and don't need more fuel to spread.
