I've got it on disc already, so I won't be buying it, but any old school RPG fan who doesn't own, it really needs to get this. It's a great game and is actually was very expensive to buy as it's considered a collectible.

Suikoden 2 is better but this is great as well, and you can transfer data from Suikoden 1 to Suikoden 2 if you ever get it.

Hopefully they don't release 2 anytime soon. I'd like to keep the value on my copy of it.

I bought it this morning. I have the original PS1 disc, but $6 for a version I can play on the PSP was too good to pass up. I'd read somewhere that Sony was finally going to release a regular stream of PS1 games, and it seems like they're sticking to that promise.

Now they just have to give me Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Soul Reaver, any of the Final Fantasy games, and I'll be happy. That, or I'll get off my ass and pick up a PSP firmware downgrader so I can copy my discs over.

PSN store through the PS3, PSP (if you have upgraded to the firmware that has it) or the PC PSN store to download directly to the PSP(if no PS3 or wireless internet).

I really hope Suikoden II follows suite, the prices on that are just nuts and I've been wanting to play it again for a long, long time. ("friend" accidentally broke the disc long ago ;; )

quick question can you play this on your PS3? or does it have to go on to your psp?

Yeah, not gonna lie...I got rid of my PSP..so I'll just stick to it on my ps3 =D

My Suikoden 1-3 got stolen by my ex who probably threw them away, though she should have sold them for drug money when 1&2 were worth a ridic amount each. I've since got 1&3 but never found a good copy of 2 (that I felt was worth he money).

I'm one of those guys who will (if his present company allows) dig through stacks and stacks of used games at any mom/pop hobby/comic/game/whatever/junk store for sweet deals. Honestly, could have made a couple 1000 doing it knowing what some of that crap goes for on eBay, but I'm a collector. I never resell (by choice, though sometimes by force). lol

sorry for bringing this back, but I can't seem to find the game in the store....can someone get me a link please?

I just downloaded it to my psp a few weeks ag. I'd never played it before, but it is pretty good so far. I read somewhere there are over 100 playable characters... Is that true? I've recruited probably around 20 so far.

Hitaru, when I downloaded it it was under the "PS One" section of the PSN store. Just scroll down and you should find it.

Yeah Suikoden titles (well main series and Tierkreis at least) are known for having 108 Stars of Destiny (or Starbearers in Tierkreis case) to recruit, and having a HQ where they can open a shop, bar, minigame, bath, storage, whatnot, or just live their daily lives.
Also main series has the 1 on 1 duels, true runes and war battles.

yeah I had to update my new PSP to get it, but I got it....just got back from seeing the star lady. It's pretty interesting, I really hope that II will also get a release as I played that pretty far.

God I hope so too. I had a copy in my younger days but I was foolish and sold it, now it's $100+ on Ebay and I won't pay that much for it. When the first one hit PSN that got me stoked for the possibility of the second, my favorite one in the series.

I just got my castle in the first one, the story is fairly interesting so far but I know I've hardly hit the surface of it.

II was the first one I played and it grabbed more than any other RPG that was out at the time did, I absolutely loved it. I never did complete it though because back then I hated leveling up and stuff lol.

2 is a lot more interesting if you load the data from 1 onto it. :)

I bought Suikoden 1 for the PSN as soon as I noticed it, it's fantastic having it on my PS3/PSP now. Suikoden 2 was amazing, though it's a shame I don't have it anymore and like Tiael said, paying $100+ for it just isn't something I'm up for.

Hope they release it onto PSN...that'd be awesome =D
