Super Bowl Cheaters

i have mixed feelings about the whole issue, mainly in part that i am the biggest patriot fan on earth. i dont really care that they taped signals, i just dont understand why against the jets and not a good team lol.

all of a sudden i feel like a follower of charles manson.. lol.

I'm a big Patriots fan too, and this just sucks. I was shocked when I heard this on the news.
 
eh personally i think that the draft picks is a good reaction from the NFL commish but i think that now is the time for the owner of the patriots to fire someone
 
I find it hilarious that the high and mighty Patriots get caught cheating. It tarnishes all that they've done under Belichick and makes me question what else they've been doing for all these years. With the talent on those teams I don't understand why they would resort to such tactics.

There have always been rumors of teams having headset problems at the Pat's stadium when they were getting close to scoring while the Pats themselves never have such problems. This might just be the first of a few things that come out about this shady organization.

As someone that watches a lot of football I've lost respect for em. They have had some awesome teams in the past and always been credited for having top notch coaching but this casts a shadow of doubt on if some of those close wins that they've had were helped along by illegal activities.
 
I think the Patriots are gonna eat this alive, I knew it was too good to be true, people just couldnt leave them alone, let them win...

Oh well, unfortunate if these tactics were true to where it made the bigger differences in certain games, I think the Pats gonna just take this and play even harder and we gonna take another trophy back to the heezy if you know wat I mean :D

Hey now no reason to bring my division leading cubs into this. As of today they are in first place by a half game (hey I am a cubs fan i will take what i can get).

But back on topic they should have fined the team owner too for allowing it to happen on his team.

That or find another cheeting method that no ones thought of yet and not get caught for a few more years.

Belichicks rep is ruined by this, and so is everything that orginization stands for. And it hurts sayin this cus i like the pats.
 
As probably the biggest Pats fan on the planet, I can say it's a load of horseshit people saying this is the only reason the Pats won all those games. We had the best team in the league all 3 years we won the superbowl.

Cheating is prevalent in every major sport, the NFL is no different. A few years back the Miami Dolphins shut the pats out something like 13-0, and Zach Thomas was reported to have let slip they had "unique audio feed of Tom Brady's audibles." which is really just a member of their D-line is mic'd, so they can maybe get a jump on what play Brady audibles too. In case you're curious of the source of this info, it's ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Yeah, the Pats got caught, and I can't say I disagree with the punishments laid on them, but to say that they're the only team to use any sort of advantage like this and to say this is the only reason they've won so many games the past 6 years is downright absurd.

As for punishments, Meeze, you think something like cheating in the NFL should be punished more harshly than someone being associated in illegal dogfighting, or shots fired at a club, or whatever case you're referring to? That's a bit extreme.
 
I hope its only a couinsidence that im a miami fan in this case cus i never said they only won all their games through cheating, just that it runis their entire rep.
 
I always thought that Belichik was a great coach but after this scandal I am a little iffy. Nothing is worse than being presitigious of your capabilities only to be exposed later that you had an inside advantage. Though I never liked the Pats I always did like Belichk's coaching ability now it's his ethics that bother me.

I think that cheating should be on par with betting on your sport.

Look at performance enhancing drugs in the NFL, you get a warning first time, 4 game suspension 2nd time, I think a year your 3rd.

Cheating by stealing signs or w/e should be on par. Sports are turning into a joke overall. Baseball isn't going after players for doping, basketball refs are point shaving, etc.

No one is holding anyone accountable because the owners are in charge of themselves, and all they want is dollars, and the public overall is too stupid. Even people who think they are good people, root for the people on the field, knowing that there is probably something going on, even if its in the back of their minds.

The reason the Pats have been succesfull is because of the snowbowl game against the Raiders. The call may have been correct, but NFL stepped in to ensure the Pats got the ball back. May have been a combination of 9/11 gogo Patriots, and the league overall hates the Raiders. Ref is only supposed to spend 2 min (I think, might only be 90 secs) under the tarp, but that replay was reviewed after the initial review for a good 5 minutes, and the whole process took over 10 minutes.

That call doesn't get made, the Pats don't go on to win the SB, everything changes.

It's not a lead because the Brewers were off Thursday. Also you play in the shittiest division in baseball you'll be the Padres of 2005 .500 (maybe a game or two over if you win the division).

On topic: The draft picks are a harsh penalty. They only lose the first round pick if they make the playoffs. They do lose the second and third round either way. They still have other teams first, second, and third round picks because of trades.
 
Finally they actually get caught, other teams have accused the patriots of doing this before, just none could prove it, last year Miami accused them of it and the year before green bay accused them.

Its ok tho, as LT said payback comes on the field. Chargers gonna fuck em up!
