Superbowl Predictions

And I just lost 20 bucks <_<;

It was a really good game though. 20-7 to 23-20 to 27-23.

Yea verily, I started watching the game on a whim, and in the first few minutes things looked exceedingly grim for Arizona. Turned out to be a pretty good game overall though.

Yeah but there was <30 seconds left, who's to say they would have made a play, regardless they did review it in the booth, not a long review, but they did. And the call stood.

Good and close game regardless.

Great fucking game.

Also, I won five hundred bucks at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Damn good game. The last two have been very entertaining.

Arizona got robbed on that last fumble call.

I don't think so. Watching the play live I was sure that it was an incomplete pass, but after watching the replay, you can see him start to lose the ball before his hand starts to go foward. Even Warner didn't argue it and he was adamant after the first one.

I was the only one in the room that thought it WAS a fumble, but how the HELL can you let the god damn Superbowl end on a play THAT close without any replay? Yeesh.

They did review it. The replay booth reviewed it and made the call to not call down for an officials review.

It was a fumble that did get reviewed, but it was obvious enough that they made the call quickly. The lineman had Warner's forearm held back, which means his forearm couldn't be moving forward that he would have needed for an incomplete pass.

To me, since he still had enough control to force the ball forward about 5 yards, that's an incomplete pass. Logical fallacy and all, if you're going to tell me the 'Tuck Rule' is an incomplete pass, so was that last play.

And I feel that Pitt got some helpfull calls late in the game. Was Santonio Homles right toe down? Look really closely... I won't argue that there's enough evidence to overturn the call made, just raising the question.

And that 'roughing the passer' call on Pitt's game winning drive was bullshit, I don't think anyone's going to argue that.

So once again Pittsburgh was given another Superbowl with some helpfull calls from the refs.

But what is the point in trolling these questions? This was one of the best games of all time. I had a blast watching it, screaming at the top of my lungs, arguing with the refs, and getting tanked on beer and bacon dip.

No, the real point is ammo, something I can use to heckle my Steeler's buddy's about the rest of the offseason until play starts up again. Something to argue, degrade, and rage about for 7 whole months. And isn't that what's really important?

1. I agree that the last play should've been reviewed. There really isn't any reason to not review it. Especially being the last play of the Super Bowl, and knowing the scrutiny you will face afterward if you don't take a look at it.

2. His foot was for sure in. Watch on HD haha.

3. Roughing the passer call was kinda iffy, but it wasn't on the game winning drive. I've seen NFL ref's throw flags for much, much less however.

Still, like you said, in the end it's the Steelers, and everyone can throw a hissy fit about the calls until the Steelers repeat next year!

Some say it WAS reviewed and some say it wasn't. I personally do not think it was. Had it been reviewed it would have been an incomplete pass. His arm was movin' forward, the defender who made the play tugged BACKWARDS and the ball still went forward, as mentioned, about 5 yards. Kurt just had enough class not to argue the call, because technically it shouldn't have come down to that in the first place.

As for the T.D. with the feet bein' down, in question. His feet was obviously down. The way he fell and how his knees broke down is proof enough. That was a no brainer that they reviewed far to long yet, even if they did review the "fumble", didn't even spent a min. on it.

With that bein' said though, they deserved to loose the game. The fact they pressured Roth. despite him bein' damn near perfect under pressure while only good out of pressure, the whole damn game, should have tipped the idiots off to not pressure him on their last play, but rather sit back and prevent anything long. I was pullin' for them but after that play even I wouldn't have called to review the fumble if I had the power. I don't get how grown men who have played and studied football as extensively as any professional football coach or player has couldn't catch that. You could argue emotions was high and things slipped the mind, but there again, is something that separates a professional from the rest.

It's interesting... I was thinking about this the other day as well, and wondering how hard it must have been for Pendergast, the Cards D-coordinator, to convince himself NOT to pressure "7" as they call him, lol. Not pressuring an NFL QB is just BEGGING yourself to be picked apart for 400 yds and 4 TDs lol, yet all season long "7" has had amazing numbers when pressured and out of the pocket, but common football knowledge demands that eventually he starts to break down under pressure. It's remarkable, really.

I was kind of chucking to myself when Pitt went into the "prevent" defense, especially as early as they did. I don't care how good your D is, Arizona will burn you when you leave that many gaps. They actually looked surprised when zona scored 2 quick TDs to take the lead.....

I remember standing there, yelling and screaming after the play, and then thinking "Here comes the review". Next thing I know, the Steelers are kneeling it out. Somewhat confused, I continued my crazy celebration.

Also, upon further review:

Looks pretty good to me.
