Sword of Truth: "Wizard's First Rule" Miniseries!

Yeah the mini-series is a huge letdown, though I enjoyed all books past 4, including "Confessor".
And I love "A Song of Fire and Ice", George R.R. Martin is an absolute genius, can not wait for "A Dance with Dragons", which has been delayed for a long ass time. I hope it's out by April 2009, and there's supposed to be 7 books total..hope he finishes it.

Looks like we may have a Robert Jordan on our hands with this one. He's in his 60's and doesn't look all that healthy. He's still got 2 more books after this one (it was supposed to be a triliogy!), which was supposed to be released 2006, and he still doesn't have a date set for book 5... /sigh.

Best Series ever for me.

1. "A song of Fire and Ice" (nothing is close)
2. "Harry Potter" series (awesome)
3. "Dresden Files" series(underrated awesome, funny, serious)
4. "Codex Alera" series (great fantasy)
5. "Sword of Truth" first books, not the last ones though.

I hope he does finish it, and at least we'll get the last in "The Wheel of Time", he gave his family and friends the majority of the information and notes/recordings about the last book, and even completed some parts, and another author is gonna finish it, though it's a shame Robert Jordan isn't alive to finish it.

Best series for me
1) "A Song of Fire and Ice"

Others not in any particular order

"The Sword of Truth"
"The Wheel of Time"
"Lord of the Rings"/"The Hobbit"/"The Silmarillion"
"The Chronicles of Narnia"
"The Dark is Rising"

Best series for me

1, Thomas Covenant (Stephen Donaldson)
2, First Law (Joe Abercombrie, must read this if you havent.)
3, The wars of Shadow and Light (Janny Wurtz)

SoT is my favorite series of all time. I'm not going to bother arguing about which books you did or did not like, because in the end, it all comes down to preference.

Other series I like:

Wheel of Time (the later books tend to get redundant to me, [see previous point])
The Death Gate Cycle(admittedly not a literary masterpiece, but I thoroughly enjoyed the plot)
Harry Potter (yay)
Various Dragonlance books (again, not always the greatest literary works, but generally enjoyable plot)

In respect to Goodkind's shot at Christians. Well, anytime you hold a belief, and you read a book, your beliefs are subject to be attacked. Imagine if someone(I don't know anyone personally, lol) that was an advocate believer of communism. They'd have been hugely offended by the portrayal of the communist Imperial Order in those books. Just gotta shrug it off, I guess.

Hmm I absolutely loved all of the Sword of Truth books. Blood of the Fold is perhaps one of the less interesting of them all. But generally for me I could easily find myself lost in reading one of Terry Goodkind's novels for hours on end. I also thought he ended it very well with the final trilogy. I loved it, I also like that pretty much every book in the series had a clear ending. With exception to the final trilogy, each book could have very well been the last part of the story and I would have been okay with that. (but I'm glad it wasn't, up until the trilogy)

Blood of the Fold and Pillars of Creation(admittedly not nearly as good, in my eyes... way too little focus on the main characters) were the two in my eyes that didn't meet my standards for the rest of the series.

Well we all agree that his earlier books were awesome.

For all you haven't read "A Song of Fire and Ice", please do so!
