Sxybeast. Mob Stealer

yall are making it seem like i had 100 Crawlers on me... i had 3.. but the point is, she knew they were mine.. Theres a certain respect you have to give... If your leveling, and you know you can kill 2 Mobs at a time, i know you would take the chance of getting that extra EXP faster. its the same with Farming. if i know i can kill a few Grubs at the same time. i am gonna take that opportunity..

If you are XPing and hunting crawlers in RF, you don't need links to get chains. Sometimes other people utilize the same areas more than other times. Sounds like you were in a high traffic area and trying to accomplish something that wasn't really reasonable, given that other people were there to do similar things. Just let it go.

You know you've farmed like this before.. If i have an AeO Ability. im gonna use it. Tryin to tell me you haven't farmed like this before is like saying, u've never PT'd before.. unless u just buy gil and dont farm at all. which most noobs do anyways..

Sounds like how thrilled i was when i got to 41 and cyclone... farming was gonna get soo much better...

Broke out made a train used cyclone maybe like 3 times ever and went back to the normal way of farming.

Remember if it's yellow, hitting it makes me mellow.

I have, but it's pointless.
And the gil buying comment is just ignorant.

...Should have just dropped it.

Link killing? No. I link kill all the time. But if someone who is farming the same thing takes one, c'est la vie.
GA killing, I have heard affects drop rate. But I have no data to support that.

I trained Giddeus for Yagudo Necklaces and wound up getting 100+ in less than 2-3 hours. Finished the quest in 4 and had Utsusemi Ichi.

That was approx a year ago.

Fast forward 6 months later - SE nerfed training. Took atleast 10 hours for 100+ necklaces.

That's my data to support that not only Ga farming - but any training will result in decreased drop rate.

AND mobs will even despawn if your train gets to big.

Happy farming.

Training doesn't nerf. GA and AoE does.

It's all random, let's not forget that. 100 necklaces (on a "good" drop day) could drop very quickly. On a "bad" drop day it could be...Painful.

In link farming crawlers (not AoE), I will often get 50% drop rates on silk threads...Sometimes nothing. Sounds pretty normal to me.

Any time I use Cyclone, I would agree that the drop rates suck.

This reminds me of a time some JP player was linking EVERY grub in RF and i think he was able to take them all but i just casted Banishga II and got all the thread lol. Now when i say he linked them all i mean like 80% of them it was pissing me off when i was lvling my npc buddy

I have absolutely ga farmed in the passed. I just not get upset when someone peels on off of my train.

Did Sxybeast keep stealing your mobs over and over again? Or was it just the one time? If it was just that time, I'd probably just accept her story that she was trying to save your life and move on.

I agree. I personally got a bit mad when I was farming the Yagudo for the Necklaces so I could make some money off of the Utsusemi scroll... But then I realized- there's two ways to farm:
1. Attack one, link like 100 others, stop, kill them all.
2. Attack one, kill it, attack another, kill it, repeat.

Option one is by far the most effective. It's faster, saves MP/TP (mage/melee), and it's somewhat more fun. However, the downside to the more effective way is that others can pull them off of you for their own benefit. That's why there's never an easy way out. Either way you win and you lose, just like everything in the game.

However- I'll admit, the two flames about me going on are good flames. As they're deserving and they're big deals. This flame, and other flames like it are kinda crappy, no offense. It's one person stealing two mobs. Big freaking deal!!

GTFO, why you still here again you worthless troll?
BTW: the only reason they are good flames is because everyone bashes on you're pathetic ass, it's rather enjoyable reading.

and about the flame, it's stupid, now if she would have followed you around all day long to kill all your monsters sure it might be worthy to come up here, but she killed 2 of the monsters you were fighting, o...m....g.... did you GM call her?

Hey Sculli, can we have a "Worst Topic of 2006" competition to go along with the inevitable "Best Topic of 2006"?

If it's at all reasonable to do so, I leave people's trains alone. It's true that anything yellow is fair game, but if for example a player had several crawlers and I wanted one, and there was a free crawler not too far away, I'm not going to ruin the player's day by train-robbing out of spite. I think the only time I stole from someone's train was one time in Saruta when I noticed spiny spippi in some player's crawler train. Anyway, I think for the most part, being courteous should come before demanding your rights to a yellow mob. It's sort of like traffic laws. If I'm walking across the street at a crosswalk, I have the legal right-of-way. However, if a car is coming, I'm not going to demand it. Sometimes it's better to put your rights aside to keep the peace.

I've seen mixed results on -ga kills. But 90% of my experience shows that I get crap when I ga kill. Unless I'm taking out 12 targets at once or something. Then I might see a drop or two. If I kill them individually, I tend to have better luck.

But there's not a whole lot that's legit or scientific about that in the slightest. Just what I feel. Which has the worth of this empty coke can five inches from my keyboard.

I get annoyed when people pick off my trains too, but its fair game. What is more annoying is the "I thought you were going to die" excuse. I've had someone say that when they were 25 lvl's below me. I rarely go /anon and when I do, it is pretty obvious what lvl I am by my gear.

So let me get this straight.

She/He came up, said hello, killed a crawler that was on you, and then apologized when you proceeded to bitch at them? For one someone who is out to be an ass and "steal" what you have on you isnt going to be all bubbles and sunshine polite by saying hello. Secondly, you have a lot of nerve to cry a sob story about someone who, to me, sounds like they were just out to help you. Hello! She said -SORRY-! Get over it and go kill some more crawlers. Heaven forbid people try to help one another.

/nod.

But I do have a good side about this though. I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to geico :).

/em kills that fucking lizard.

lol give him a break maybe he's new

well it sucks that happened to you but expect that a lot in this game. No point hating them for that reason. next time just /slap them and go on with life lol

I used to train and nuke with my BLM for drops but it was such a waste of time and effort. Your much better off leveling THF, to 15 at the very least for TH1, and then killing mobs 1 after the other. You will find they drop alot better if you don't train and then AoE them.

I hate ppl that train. I tend to pick mobs off, and when i'm rdm/blm, I tend to aoe. >:3
