For all those who I know, I am taking a pretty long term break from FFXI. Appart from the fact that real life issues I have during this time of the year, I found uttery hard to do anything productive of the small free time I got. I haven't logged properly for like a month now, and only time I log in is when I receive an MSN msg or an email requesting help (had a few last weekend, starting from ZM, RDM AF and so on).

This game is rather hard to spend your 1~2 hours to do something. Yes I tried farming, but most of the time I end up dozing off when I am resting and find myself dead when I wake up (rofl). I tried crafting. Seriously its the same concept as farming except it costs god knows so much gill. I have tried questing, although most of them were very badly rewarded. Missions, well Prom missions is said to be interesting. It has been made easier I heard, but still it requires time. Something I don't have much.

I have been playing different both offline and online game and really had time to think about comparing the pros and cons that the game have. And I have reached to a conclusion that the best thing is to stay away from the game for a while. Perhaps a new change may occure while I am away which draws my attention and making me to come back, perhaps more bug fixes... who knows.

I have also considered about joining a HNMLS. But of course I always have memories of my Everquest times when I was in a Hard core raiding guild. I have my back history and experience of what to be in such LS. And soon the idea of joining into one fades away. As much as people say its enjoyable it never stops being to kill a selection of mobs to aquire something rare from them. This leads to competition due to the low drop rate, and usually competition will lead to frustration (varies but usually it is) since they spawn in a pretty large time frame. And so on.

I was never a big fan of PvP so ballista is out of the question. So whats left? I have reached to the point which I say nothing. Due to the fact that I live in Europe will make almost everything hard to achieve. Although I had this problem since 1.5 years ago, I have reached to the point where I say well I am off, taking a break. Wether the break will become a retirement I have no idea.

/wave for those who I know.

Man, sorry to see you go, I missed you from the LS for the past little while. Was nice playing with you when we did, and thanks for all the help.

Byebye Shia...
I was nice to meet you, and a shame we never PTed....good luck to you! ^^;

I hope we see you again, Shia, but good luck with whatever you choose.

Although I have had limited contact with you in-game, your posts on this board have been a great help to many. I wish you the best in whatever you choose.
