Anyone else playin this yet?
Im new to real time/run around and fight rpgs like this, but im havin fun, i like the victory battle scenes where the characters interact "I knocked you into last week!" "Wait...can you do that?" "never mind..."
I knew it was gonna be fun once i ran into the first real boss/bad guy, tho easy and short like most first meets with characters of that sort, all i could think was "bad ass".
Kinda reminded me of the kingdom hearts 2 sora outfit with what he was wearin.
the battle mode seems ok so far, i havent fully unlocked all the features for it yet tho so it seems a bit too simple for me as of now.
I think this is gonna turn out to be a good rpg story, my only peeve is during spoken parts having to click A to get to the next piece of dialogue, kind makes it seem poorly acted and chopped up to me, but i guess ill get used to it and time my clicks to sound more well done.

I love this game so far. It also has a really cool character, that I won't mention in case people want it to be a suprise.

The combat gets better Chasym. As you level up, you really do start to feel badass lol.

Also, this game is really really long. The main quest can take you up to 40 hours if you don't have any outside help with the game. Add sidquests, you can probably get over 80 hours of this game.

It's very "Tales of"y. I've always loved the series so I was eagerly awaiting this one. I just wish I had more time to play it than I currently do.

my only fear is that Infinite undiscovery comes out in a few days, i also just started mercenaries 2, and i have like 6 other games im in the middle of because more good games come out right after the other...i just know im gonna get half way through this and start another game lol

Yeah I know what you mean. Tales of Vesperia now, Infinite Undiscovery soon, Dragon Quest IV mid September, Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood late September, Star Ocean: The First Departure and Fable II mid October, The Last Remnant, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Valkyria Chronicles and Chrono Trigger in November, and Persona 4 in September, and those are just RPGs, and I know I'm forgetting some.

On-topic, I'm loving ToV, I am a huge "Tales of" fan and can't wait for more, though I wish the 2 DS titles that are currently Japan only would release here as well.

After playing that game in store yesterday, i'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. They made it from a "Tales of" game and made it in to another generic JRPG. Yet another game i was hoping would be good, but got next gen'd.

Posted this in another thread talking about this game. Also would like to add on something that was posted after with the "Tales Of" games being inconsistent. I played about 3 hours and couldn't get in to this game. Another Tales Of Legendia.

I also find this game to have quite a lot of humor. It has me laughing a decent amount lol. A lot of good DS titles are coming out, but most are just ports. I'll get em later but not now. I will be getting Sonic Dark Brotherhood though.

I plan on playing Infinite Undiscovery after this one, even though its not getting the best of reviews. The game has terrible lag in large scale fights, and too many characters that bog down the game and have zero development, and too much micro managing of them. Also, the game has virtually no sidequests, linear story that lasts 20 hours. Tales in the end will be better imo if people just give it a chance.

Another Tales Of Legendia.

How so? They seem very different to me. I enjoyed the Tales of Legendia 2D battlefield style but I'm glad they reverted back to the 3D field after it.

I love Yuri and Rita's writing, they're not quite on the level of Jade Curtis from Tales of the Abyss, but they're getting closer as the game moves on.

Several of the systems they're using were introduced in Abyss, and they've improved on them noticeably. Great game.

I like all the characters so far. Yuri is a really good lead character, and I also like Repede a lot lol. Also I really like the music as well.

Tales of the Abyss is my favorite of the series.

Does this game have the Japanese voice track on it like Eternal Sonata did?

Don't know, I've been using the English so far. One thing I love is that all of the skits are now voice acted as well, but there's been a few scripted scenes without voice acting, which I don't really get.

There is no Japanese audio option, looks like that's how they fit the voice acted skits into the game, they just removed the Japanese audio entirely.

Bleh, thanks for checkin'. I'll probably just wait for it then.

I hear Infinite Undiscovery sucks

I'm leanin' that way too. I was excited at first but the more I read and see of it, the less it appeals to me. The only way I'd buy it at this point is if it has some sort of random dungeons or a "loot grind" like Diablo/Too Human type games. However, I definitely wont be buyin' this title if it doesn't have the Japanese audio tracks. The English VA's are horrible so far.

Looks like I'm just waitin' on Guilty Gears 2 and Naruto: UNS now. Good for the T.V. money jar at least.

Strid, though it doesnt have Japanese Audio, the American cast is doing a fine job. Nothing like Blue Dragon lol.

That's more of the dialogue and the characters than the actual voice acting; but yeah, the voice acting in Vesperia has been great so far.

I'm sure it's okay. Most of the other games in the series have been fine. However, I hate the English language in battles, it always sounds so lame. The cutscenes in the demo were fine but the battles were just annoyin'.

I wish RPG's would just let the whole voice thing go in battles period. It's annoying for any version to me for some character to repeat the same lines over and over and over and over. "AIR SLASH!!! AIR SLASH!!!!" lol

Ah, I agree with this, I could only put up with Shion's "Open Ether Circuit" or any other multitude of characters repeating the same shit in battles every time you use that move/ability/spell.
