I have to agree with Lyrai on some points. From what I've seen a lot of the GS seem to be real nice people, not the devils that some assume them to be. My whole thought process when it comes to them is, "Don't hate the player, hate the game."

But I do agree that there is reason to be against their practices, simply for effects that it may/may not have on the game.(Exactly what those effects are can be debated for eternity.)

And Shaunessy, you seem to be missing the entire point of this thread. Stop going on your tirades about how they're "simply people trying to play the game". Yes, they're people playing the game. However, unlike the rest of us, they're not doing it simply for pleasure. While they may enjoy it, it's still a job. Don't mix business and pleasure.

Yes, that's why I don't take any stand against gilsellers. I don't particulary know who they are or really give a shit. I just find it funny when a person I suspect secretly is a buyer goes off on a rant about them. And then best is when people I know buy gil insult others for it.
 
about the whole selling coins for more thing... it sounds like they have a pretty capable crew - so they should be able to get a substantial amount of coins.

You are aware that more coins on the market = lower prices per coin, yes? Dear god, if only they would focus on dynamis and do nothing else.
 
more items = cheaper stuff expect when that item is rare then it might not

Damn you found me out. Right before they deleted those accounts worth the 300 bil I bought $1000 US worth of gil. Just waiting for the prices to go back up and I'm going to sell it for $50/mil. :(
 
I don't care how the gilsellers are in person.. they are indeed cause of great problems on the server. It's nice and all that they are getting more items for the server but they don't lower prices. Generally when supply increases and outgrows the demand the prices are supposed to follow suit... However.. gilsellers don't lower the price. They continue to shout the prices and keep them at the same price for weeks and weeks and even months. Furthermore, they do increase gil on the server when they do the quests for gil (and I'm pretty sure they do more other things for gil.. obviously some were duping). They can come and defend themselves all they want.. but I don't see how any arguement they make would be all that great.

ya.. but you are doing it against the ToS which is breaking a law of the game and screwing several honest people outta their fun and time. Go get another job maybe? Or... there's always life without money.. (granted that'd be tougher if you became a substantial farmer.. but it's still living and entirely possible).

I don't care how nice they are in real life. I'll never meet them.. the fact their characters (which all I can assume was them) have MPKed me in the past, stolen HNMs and NMs from me, and been rude.. they can go fuck themselves.. it's rather sad how many gilselling and gilbuying supporting people there are on our server...not suprised though.. guess that's why we are dead last when it comes to getting shit done compared to other servers because most of the players are lazy fucks that don't work for their shit or care to work for it.

lazy is true strike but we also have a major greed problem and conflict with linkshells. Instead working together we fight and unable to get anything done.
