I never said i get hit every pull or anything. That comment meant if you run into an issue with pulling, shadows are there for you because your eva sure as hell isnt. Not to mention that if you are partying with nin tanks half of them dont voke first they cast kurayami so i get hit then. Wow guys I am really sorry but honestly you live in a dream world I have partied with Players who have had twice the expirience in this game as you have and then i have been in parties with half the expirience as you and it seems every puller gets hit throughout the course of the whole party. But you guys are right rangers dont need utsusemi they sub nin for the sole reason of dual wield. You defy the logic of every ranger on every server of this game...

Youre argument is so incompetent its disgusting. Every Ranger and Thief subs ninja to help for pulling in those JIC situations(Yes thief use it for TP also). You are telling me that every 75 Ranger that play this game are not doing the correct thing by subbing ninja and using shadows. I'm sorry for being the norm and subbing ninja but you guys really cant argue against it. Here is some proof as to why i sub ninja. Hey Neo whats your subjob for exp, and why do you sub it?

Whats really sad is that you two are internet tough guys... Teaming up on someone in a forum is the cool thing to do.

I see the real issue here you guys fight so much with your wives/girlfriend they never put out and you must come online and pick on people over the interent. Thats pretty weak...Get a life.

And he is a monk he doesnt pull enough throughout every level range to actually see that pulling Proffesionaires at a rate to please the party is going to force you to link... Whatever the situation you guys should give up on me because i dont care what kind of player you think I am the people I come into contact with in this game know my style of playing and seem to accept it because I get repeat invites from the same people.

And i can honestly tell you i dont think ive ever parsed a party where a mnk has done more dmg than me. Yes a drk or drg on occasion and more than likely a BLM but i have yet to parse any monks DOT higher than mine. And when they are higher its cuz we are fighting a skeleton or something and its one of those rare occasions where monks shine. Whatever the case i wouldnt bring DOT into this discussion because ranger still hold DOT in 90% of situations over mnk.

Edit: Wow you admitted that you have pulled link before. And then you act as if because the blm in my party doesnt instantly sleep the mob or the sleep doesnt go off that its my fault for joinging the party? During link the mob is gonna hit you whats the cast time on sleep 2 again? Its just dumb logic I make mistakes, I'm sorry, but I at least I admit it.

Continue from here and i would like you to tear it up. This isnt a test but i know you dont have any dignity so dont act as if you do and please just "tear it apart."

This is for Skaw but i guess its open to any debate for anyone who wants to say something.

Theres no reason to link, even if your PT asks for it. It's too risky. Here's what any smart and excellent puller will do, not some scrub: When the mobs down to the last bit of life... GO FIND ANOTHER.

I really have nothing else to say to someone like you, other than I hope I never PT with you and your shitty pulling ability. Quit partying with the low end Monks if dragoons can out damage you but they can't.

Only time I "link" is if it's absolutely unavoidable: ie, something popping infront of a very narrow entrance to camp. Even then, if it's sight and nonsocial, I can avoid it like the plague.

I can tell you why Neo subs ninja. It's not going to be for pulls, it's because unlike you, he's actually competant in his Ranger ability to the point where he might pull hate and outdamage a Dragoon in the process

Ok so the mob is down to the last sliver of life that doesnt change the fact that mobs spawn next to eachother? Den of Rancor there is only one direction to go to pull from if the mobs are standing right next to eacother i can either pull or not pull no matter where or what time i leave from the previous battle. If the party votes to pull link I'll warn them its a bad idea and then ill do it. because who am I to hold these people back form thier exp Im not gonna be the first to die anyways after it wakes up after sleep its going strait for the blm or rdm.

You have no right to call me a bad puller from what i ahve said here today. And I would like to party with you so i could prove to you im not a bad puller. Do you have any jobs around level 67? I would also request that I'll pull for 5k exp then you can pull for the next 5k exp and we can see how utsusemi helps with pulls. don't be pissed when i hold to your word of no linking and engage pulling without getting hit...

All I can say is that DRG+wyvern always have a higher DOT percentage in all my parties than monks...And your prolly right all the monks I party with are horrible in your mind.

lol and the majority of links happen because a mob pops in front of you that you cant get aroud...

I promise when i get to level 75 that ill outdamage Skaw in more areas then he can outdamage me including gods...

you're jacking yourself off over pulling 5k an hour?

go pull 10k an hour then start bragging, i'm guessing skaw has done so with his mnk, if not him another mnk did.

when i pulled the only thing on my mind was the chain, not what the noobs in my party thought was good. if my party could pull chain 5 without rest then i did so. if there was a link, i wouldn't pull it, unless we were going for chain 4. anything else i knew i had time to watch them move. this isn't the dunes anymore where you are asking the mages how much mp they need before pull. you should know how much mp your healer is getting per tick, and know how many ticks they'll get in from the time you leave camp, and the time you get back.

and about ranger damage, ya its pretty good dot, but a 75 mnk is going to hit anywhere from 100-200 a round of hits, while i do about 100-130, mnks delay is much lower also. mnk is blessed with kick attacks and double attack from /war, the advantage of melee'n rng had was nerfed, so we lost extra damage, the TP lost wasn't much of a difference.

mnk and war are the two jobs i know i can't hang with anymore, although i still run into the scrub ones i blow away.

as far as subs go, i always sub nin, but its not for pulls, although that is nice. most mobs do aoe, and shadows absorb the damage allowing for less mp to be wasted. another advantage is the extra racc and ratt you get from the second weapon.

/war i use when i xp with people i know, and for gods. /war i can pull hate pretty quick with my damage upped 30-50 a hit with berserk on, and the additional damage i do on WSs, but that again drains mp, and isn't that effective as i found out, with people you don't know.

as a puller you never really should lose any shadows on the way back to camp, if you have to pull a link, shadow bind one mob and fight the other since it will be chasing you.

i xp'd with a lot rangers on my to 75, and notice them not doing the extra things that seperates they "average" rng (back then average was still pretty damn godly) and the ones i would /sea for the next time i wanted to build a cannon.

Meeze summed up everything I wanted to say, but had I said it, this guy would've said "omg omg somethingstupid you're a MNK," wonder what he'll say now that someone who is a ranger said it.

This wouldnt happen to have been in the water camp in boyahda would it? Since there a puller can shed links with water-deodorize damn near most of the time, so this thread wouldnt matter at all anyway.

LOL a lv.75 RNG outdmg a MNK named Skaw?! your dreaming... and keep dreaming... skaw will do way more dmg then you or any damn drg... good monks = real good DD ;P

Well.. yes actually. Not SOLELY but mainly.

As for pulling, I'm sorry but you make it sound like you're pulling 3-4 links per exp party/ night. Personally, I can't remember the last time I pulled a link or got aggroed from something else on the way back, it's not that hard.

Shadows are nice to have but ever since the nerf, they really are'nt that needed. Just have to gauge your hate, like a blm, so the mob don'T come for you. Only time I see a shadow absorb a hit is when I open a SC, turning the mob for SATA+WS.

I'm sorry but I just don't buy the "everybody makes mistake" excuse. Learn how mob behave and don't pull links, simple.

And a 75 mnk named Skaw only does dmg cause a ranger plugged an acid bolt in the mob, admit it!

If they lowered VIT, I'd agree.

Not the water camp lol that camps fun to screw around with you could pull a train of ten mobs and lose them all lol.

I never said I link 3-4 times per party as a matter of fact I havent linked in a very long time but utsusemi comes in handy when you do link. And when you pull and a pop spawns and you have to run the long way around.

I still want to party with you skaw.

Ive pulled many times meeze i know whats to do but thanks. And so here you are there is two mobs and they wont separate and you want to keep that chain going so you ask the party do you want link? When they reply yes which is more ofetn than not I pull it.
What would you do? yea youd pull the link...

We need to here from a brd about pulling! I have pulled for the last 15-20 lvls to 75 and must say, us getting hit on a pull isn't so bad as I can heal up myself and waste 0 mp from the mages. Rg pulling anymore is obsolete with a good pt, like KRT mnk pts where, yes, 10k/hr is the norm. I've seen Skaw pull off more DOT then pretty much anyone. Period. Go ahead and parse, you'll see I'm right except on certain mobs, but thats with any situation.

But to the real reason for my post. Links. Now since I'm a brd pulling and push for the highest chain ever, I will from time to time pull links purposely. Now keep in mind, I won't do this unless I know the pt can handle it. If we are coming to chain 5+, links sometimes are very necessary to get chains 8+ if not in a moving pt. If I'm getting hit, oh well. I cure/stoneskin and lullaby them some more as I have less then 2% resist rate and 2 lullaby songs.

Now to address linkage with other types of pullers. A rng not using utesumi(sp?) when puling isn't the end of the world, but it does help just in case you do get hit. I mean it's not hard to recast or anything. I can see pulling links if you have a reliable brd, rdm, or blm that you trust can handle it for the chain, but any other time no. If someone is pulling links on purpose, it's for the better of the chain. If you are too feeble minded to understand the reasoning behind this, or just so stuck on your cookiecutter ways of how pts work, then enjoy your mediocre pts and avg exp while I enjoy the greatness of high chains and incredible exp/hr.

I thank you for your time.

Was just messing with you  Good monks can outdamage rangers without any help in exp parties, except maybe flying mobs. I've never used a parser but the fact I get way less hate with a mnk in a party (he will get it before me) is good enough for me.

That brings me to another question I have. Is mnk/nin viable for party? Will the reduced delay (at higher levels) make up for the loss of dmg per hit and berserk/warcry? Assuming you don't need a voker of course.

H2H counts as a 2 handed weapon so unless you are using a kraken club i am pretty sure than /NIN would just be a waste of time (except for possibly counter-blink tanking...that would be sweet)

hmmmm, I could be wrong but I was under the impression dual wield adds the delay of both weapons, making like a 2-handed weapon if you want, then reduces the attack delay by X% depending on the level of the player. I though this would also apply to a regular 2-handed weapon.
