ok so I bought WoW and installed it and everything, I run it a few times and evry 5 minutes it crashes. I dont know why, I upgraded all my drives and installed Direct 9x and stuff. This is the erorr I keep getting when it crashes:

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00654D76

The instruction at "0x00654D76" referenced memory at "0x999B24C0".
The memory could not be "read".

wtf does that mean? ; ;

Im not leaving FFXI, im just tyring out WoW for a little bit.

UPDATE:
FUCK ! now FFXI is crashing
It says Playinline has encountered a problem and will need to shutdown. then it asksme to send smething to Microsoft or not send ; ;
I cant play eoither game now ; ;

1) Are you in the city of Ironforge? If so, the lag there is catastrophic!
and you may not have the sys mem to handle it.

2) Update your DirectX and video card drivers ASAP, I could'nt run the game for a damn until I installed the developers version of DirectX. Why? no idea
And I know it sounds goofy, but make sure your sound card drivers are good too

3) Listen to the Galka <3

(I know you mentioned that you did the driver thing, but most of the time the right drivers solve the issue)

thankfully FFXi is back again, dindt DC again, but WoW has. I unsiatlled it and someone told me to Scandisk and Defrag everything so did and reinstalled WoW, I played for abouyt 30 minutes and again it crashed. I DLed a catalysts for my video card. but that didnt help ; ; and what is a motherboard and how do I acces it?

I believe if you updated to the latest NVida graphic card drivers people have been having problems with that. I would recommend using an earlier graphics card driver first before messing with your motherboard bios.

Unless WoW change how the game is built, which I doubt they will, you will always lag in IF, specialy near an AH/Bank.

How the game works is it stores a packet of data for every player you meet. What armor they have, what their class and level is, pretty much stuff you can see on them or an ability they have used. That is why it takes forever to cross the AH/Bank bridge. Think about it, at any given time, on my server, probably 1k people are on, and more than half are at AH/bank :lol: .

Point I am making is, I have a $400 video card, over 1 gig of ram, and a very nice CPU, and I still lag out insanely there, sometimes even for a min or two, so if thats your problem, then you have nothing to worry about, its WoW doing its thing. :P

(this is a general post not aimed at asia or chpal, just a little backround info on one of the flaws in wow)
