Considerin' how long it's takin' people to sub the second Bleach movie, I couldn't help but to feel like cryin' after I heard about the TTGL movie.

I don't think its out on DVD yet.

The 1st Movie came out in December in cinemas and the DVD arrived 9 months later. Same thing will happen with the 2nd movie.

The movies have to come out on DVD before people sub them. Then, it takes about a week.

News from 4chan from a magazine about this movie

New information for Gurren-Lagann's movie from Megami Magazine:

-The storyline will be completely different, with only theme similarities.
-The characters will remain with their core mostly untouched but some of them will play much smaller roles. They're focusing on the lead characters for development.
-Gainax apologizes to Megami because the movie will focus a whole lot more on the male characters. Nia will have the only prominent female role in the film, she will be the main heroine. Yoko and the three sisters will be more on the line of secondary characters.
-Imaishi wants to give it a different mood/direction style more fitting of a film while still conveying the same excitement
-All new soundtrack/animation

Now I'm starting to worry. Is this gonna go down the path of Evangelion?

Edit: found a seemingly more acurate translation, I think. I can never tell with 4chan.

-It will be a reconstruction of the TV series with a lot of new cuts.

-There's going to be more than one movie, but it will NOT be split up like Part 1: Simon as a boy and Part 2: Simon as a man. They won't make it like a straight summary either. "If we're going to tell a story, it will be told in battle. While throwing in new cuts, we plan on making it a work that has the surging hotness that you felt watching the TV version at the forefront."

-Because the dialogue won't match up if they're doing a reconstruction, all of the dialogue will be newly recorded.

-They would like to create more new works after the movie. They have many stories from the seven years after Lord Genome was defeated. If the movie is a hit, the possibility of them making more will become higher.

-The movie will have music as its theme? (People on 2ch are speculating it might be like a professional MAD.)

-They're creating several new animated works, a little of which will be shown at the Anime Fair. The staff will differ for each one. Each one will be short, but have the staff's hot feelings packed in. They're still unsure when they'll be able to get these to the fans.

-It seems implied that Nia is the main heroine of the movie, because when asked about the female characters, he replies that it's sad that Yoko and the three sisters might end up in the background.

This is sad for me actually. TTGL is one of my favorite series, and is the only one I don't want them to expand on any more. It was just so perfect the first time, anything else will just be a step down, since you can't go UP from that final fight scene.

I'm not as "omg they're ruining it" as most people are.. about any series, even Final Fantasy (games) which I'm a huge fan of, so I'm pretty optimistic about this. More to watch is good in my book. It takes a massive fiasco for it to tarnish the series, in my eyes. Book -> Movie is the only time I'm very skeptical.

That's not the case with all of them but the good ones, yeah. A lot of times the movies will leak, all the same they do here, and they can be downloaded raw and done up. Doesn't happen so much with their anime flicks as it does our movies though.

Yoko is not useles. WTF have you been smoking all this time?

Yeah uh Yoko is probably one of the 4 most important characters to the series overall. Not to mention she's pretty much the face of the show.

Copy/pasta from 4chan I can assure you. Should've probably mentioned that. Then again though, Gainax might've lessened the importance of her character like what was initially rumored with the first film. So, I apologise for not making it clear.

If Noone could die from the powers of the Doombitch the spiral nemesis is guaranteed to occur!
She's like Galactus. She keeps that shit in check yo.

Maybe she'll kill someone exclusively in the movie :>

I remember watching the first few minutes of it and it was just the first few episodes pieced together. Then fast forwarded to skim the movie, and seemed like the entire series compacted into a movie...

Maybe I should give it chance and watch it in full.

Well, sub only versions of the movies are coming in July. July 1st for Childhood's End, and July 30th for The Lights in the Sky are Stars. Limited editions coming too.
